Resetting project end time after clips move.....

I moved 22 tracks out of 25, 39 secs closer to zero to eliminate one whole section.   No problems with group D&D, that part worked fine, the issue I have is that it still thinks the song is 39 secs longer.    Stop at End is still enabled in the Global settings.   How do you tell it where the new project end is??    Should be simple, right?

Since you did not move 3 of the tracks, wouldn't the end time remain the same as it was originally?

thanks for replying!   those 3 tracks only exist for the first 30 seconds of the song.   That's why they didn't need to move.

Of the 22 tracks I moved in 39 seconds, 5 of them exist out to the end.   Those were all moved in towards the start by 39 seconds.

SONAR still thinks the song end is 39 seconds later.

How do you reset the end so you don't have 39 seconds of dead air?

I know I can fix it after it is a WAVE file but this is silly, it should recognize that I moved the end in by the time I stated or I should be able to tell it where the new end is.   How is that accomplished?????

btw, I should have said earlier but I am using SONAR Producer 8.5.3

This may not be as helpful a response as you want, but I don't know why it matters what Sonar thinks the end of a song is.  There are so many variables that either make a project stop at its real ending - or not.  More often than not, my projects end up never stopping where they should.  But it doesn't matter.  While working on a song, when I'm at the end, I just hit the space bar to stop the transport.  When exporting my final 2-track master - I just select in the time line what the real length of the song is.  - To me, it doesn't matter.

yeah, I know I can fix it in the 2 track wave file but it does cause the mix down to take that much longer.

It bothers me that I edit 39 secs out of the song and the software still plays to the old longer length with 39 secs of silence at the end.   It should not do that after the edit because there are no clips out there.    I cannot find a way to make it recognize a new stop point and was hoping one of the SONAR cognescenti knew how to force it.

I guess it's one more of those silly quirks to add to the list.

Hi, Dkbender - You're missing the point of what I said in my earlier post.  There's no reason for the mix down to take longer than it should.  All you do is select the part of the time line you want to have exported.  In the time line, you go to the end of the song, leave sufficient time for reverb tails, then sweep through to the start of the project.  That's the portion of the project you export.  You're not forced to export everything Sonar mistakenly thinks is the length of the project.

Have a look at your event list, see if there are any events still "out there" at the "old end".
