Resist or Die! New Multimedia Film Clip For James :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctx849VotJA
Well the last piece I put up may not have been my best work, but I work like a modernist, this is each creative experiment leads to new discovery and indeed each work improves!

For this piece, I'm one again trying to capture the zeitgeist...so the composition which is hot off the skillet as they say...was initially mapped on Monday, recorded on Tuesday and Wednesday...and the film painting created on Thursday.

One of the problems I've been having when writing these Zeppelin style pieces, is getting the timing and indeed the time signatures right. This is because without a drummer it is hard to know where the guitar riff should fall within the time signature. Fortunately now I'm a magician ;)...and I don't bother too much about it, because I can use my magician's tricks to make the riff work. Although, I'm not sure anyone could count the different time signatures in piece lol.

The moving image this time is a film painting I took a few months ago, and if you look very carefully you will see some interesting symbols peaking out from the bushes.

:) Enjoy

Its an admirable effort.  I really like the song.  Its Ringo Starr singing late Beatles john lennon.c. 1970?

Thought the song was great Ben, too short if anything. Like the riffage! The video was pretty uninteresting if I'm honest. Shouldn't 'multimedia' include more than just music and a video though? Animation, live performance, interactive, stuff like that?

Hi James, thanks...keep it short and sweet leave em wanting more :).

About the vid, I was thinking of re-purposing some stuff...but it's always hard to know when you're doing too much of that stuff, but it still is multi-media. A music film painting still fits under the concept of multimedia if we follow The Futurists' manifesto's on multimedia...and we acknowledge they are the beginning point of multimedia :) oh yea, I know all about art history now lol.

    Thanks again guys :)

I liked it. Very interesting stuff with a solid message. And the video was nice too.

Hey guys, I've gone back and created a proper film clip for piece, as James said the previous film piece I put up didn't quite work...this time round, I've created a new piece that is more suited.

I must admit, it was very hard shaping images within images to create multi-layers and dimensions.

I found it enjoyable, and more accessible, which I hope is not anathema to you. Poor Grandma just can't seem to eat her kiwis.  :)

what was that Borg catchphrase? Oh nevermind.

I liked the video trickery, it really gave it a sense of fun. Nice contrast to the subject. Forgive me if I really can't relate it to the Beatles, at least musically . . . but your piece definitely held my interest throughout.

    cheers,
    -Tom
