[Resolved] Best version to roll back to...
Anyone who has rolled back and got a version that isn't crashing, farting or some other craziness? Would be nice to know since cakewalk seems to be silent on all these complaints.

The most current version doesn't do that? It says in your signature that your "Focusrite is only on when recording", so 'im assuming your using the onboard card for playback and this is most likely your issue. Without any info of your specific set up and settings, this is my answer and im sticking to it! :) CJ

The current version doesn't fart, crash or become crazy. In fact, none of the SPLAT versions have done this. I'd do what CJ says and look a little closer to home.

I think you need to give a little more detail about you hardware and the projects you at we having issues with.
Currently I am not seeingredients this issue so the more details you provide the more likely some will be able to point you in the right direction.

it says in my signature I am using the VS-700 system. I have all the way through from Sonar X1 and have had no problems until this last update. I don't get the farts anymore, but I am getting crashes, which I posted in the Sonar update post, and i have sent an email to cakewalk a week ago. So my sound card it the VS700, I have the rackmount and the console.

As stated above I'm using the VS700 system. The project I was working on is a live recording with only 25 tracks. One I start working with plugins (that came with Sonar at this point) such as concrete limiter or CA-2A I get the crash that says the following: SONARPLT.exe SONARPLT.exe has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did make a post about it before I didn't want to bring it up again, I thought I would just roll back to a version that I had no problem with until a next update comes out. I thought maybe something is wrong with the track so I went to work on another live recording of 27 tracks that i was working on before the update so I knew nothing was wrong with it, but it crashed the system as well.

Not sure but seems there are issues with the VS700 system beyond Windows 7?? I think I've read in the hardware forum where people were having to give up on the VS system as it's become outdated and not supported anymore. Myself I'm running the latest version and certainly it's as stable as all the releases since X3e. Crashes are most often driver related,

i've had no issues with it up until this update. i know there are issues once you get to Win 10 as Roland is not writing drivers for it anymore.

I see a report from you but there isn't a crash dump attached so there is insufficient information for us to go on. Could you please submit a report with a dump file and list the CWBRN number here? That will allow us to tell you why its crashing potentially. Here is some information on how to send us a crash dump. You can also try the latest early access build which posted today.

indeed that could be (ofcourse cannot say it is..) the VS 700. if possible in your setup, you could test Platinum is ok without the VS 700 engaged. prefer X3 over X2 and X1 stability personally.

The last dumps i have are from 2016 07 08 so those aren't what i'm looking for. I've downloaded the ProcDump, but is there a way to set Sonar plat to automatically create it's own?

It does automatically create a dump. When you get the crash dialog the fault reporter should automatically start and allow you to log a bug report with the dump attached. The steps in the article are only when you cannot create a dump automatically. See the section "Collecting files created automatically by your Cakewalk software or Windows"

I looked at the dump you provided and the crash is in some dll called ltc_game64-116096.dll which can be found in Program Files (x6)\Raptr Inc\PlaysTV\ltc_game64-116096.dll You should uninstall the app called Play.tv which somehow got installed on your PC. ===== ltc_game64_116096+319b 000007ff`1b0a319b 48c78424a8000000feffffff mov qword ptr [rsp+0A8h],0FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFEh SYMBOL_STACK_INDEX: 0 SYMBOL_NAME: ltc_game64_116096+319b FOLLOWUP_NAME: MachineOwner MODULE_NAME: ltc_game64_116096 IMAGE_NAME: ltc_game64-116096.dll BUCKET_ID: WRONG_SYMBOLS FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: WRONG_SYMBOLS_80000003_ltc_game64-116096.dll!Unknown ANALYSIS_SOURCE: UM FAILURE_ID_HASH_STRING: um:wrong_symbols_80000003_ltc_game64-116096.dll!unknown FAILURE_ID_HASH: {97f5124b-4260-74f9-e2d5-a5016d9ff2fb} Followup: MachineOwner ---------

Yes thanks very much, i deleted (uninstalled) it and haven't had any crashes for over an hour doing everything I normally do. It looks like there are 5 other ltc_game64 dll's on the computer as well. They got introduced to the pc from video cards drivers, probably because the card is recommended for gaming. Would it be ok to uninstall every single game off of this pc? I never play games on here, just hope they're not connected something else.

I highly recommend removing all that stuff. With video cards you should be careful to only install the drivers and uncheck everything else in their installers.

Just want to report that since the removal of this game and every other one I could find that my system is running like lightening again. Big Thanks to the Cakewalk crew.
