[Resolved] THE UNDELETEABLE VOLUME ENVELOPE

Hi Everyone. I'm sure this has been covered before, but at the time it didn't concern me, so I didn't pay attention. But now, some tracks will be at a certain level, let's say -3.1. I go to turn the fader up, and it snaps back to -3.1. I delete the clip volume envelope (that I never created in the first place). I go to move the fader, and it snaps back to -3.1. I look in the volume automation, and the envelope is back. I turned the read button off, and it makes no difference. It still snaps to -3.1. Deleted the envelope multiple times, and it keeps coming back. Is it haunted? By the way, I'm running Sonar X3e Producer 64bit in Windows 7 64bit. An help would be appreciated!!!

I've had the phantom envelope appear sometimes, but I've always been able to delete it by right-clicking on the envelope and selecting "Delete Envelope" or ignore it by turning off the Read button. So, I'm going with the "haunted" theory. The envelope is the undead.

If the control is part of a group with the letter "Z," I suggest you try a different letter

What happens if you create a new track and bring the clips into it?

I take it you have the edit filter set to automation?

I haven't tried that yet, Craig. I guess I just got too preoccupied trying to make THAT track obey me.

You know, I haven't had a look at that, John. I'll take a look.

Is it possible that there are multiple envelopes on the track and the envelope you deleted wasn't actually the volume envelope? Possible you deleted an envelop from a different track?

If you turn on automation write for the track and move the fader, can you write over the bad envelope?

Maybe then it will be obvious the correct envelope to delete?

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I'm pretty sure it was the volume envelope (light green, and was highlighted when I selected volume automation). I didn't try writing over it. The weird thing is, when I opened the project back up to try Craig's and John's ideas, it wasn't doing it anymore. Go figure... Thanks for all your help though guys! I really appreciate it!
