Retro save project to a folder?

I have saved a lot of songs just as a project file and not in a folder. I am trying to figure out how to save the project in a project folder, with its audio files as well. I can't seem to find a way to do that as there doesn't seem to be an option. Is there a way to have a song open, that has already been saved as just a project file, and then save it as a project folder with the audio in the folder or no?

Thanks.
S

If you are still on X3, go to Preferences > File > Audio Data and enable "Use Per-Project Audio Folders." The latest version of SONAR and CbB do not have this setting and are set up to use per-project audio folders

To create a project folder containing the project and audio from an existing project - open a project, then perform a "Save As", make sure "Copy all audio with project" is checked and specify the new folder to store the project.

I've been doing just this over the past few weeks with all my own projects, and there's a small bug in this area...

Say, I've got project Project123 in my default projects directory (D:\Projects - it's an old project so the audio is in my wavedata directory (E:\WaveData :

1. I create a directory Project123
2. I go to Preferences and ensure the settings you've described above are set
3. I "Save As", specifying D:\Projects\Project123 as my directory, and Project123.cwp as the project name

In X3 I correctly get D:\Projects\Project123\Project123.cwp and my audio in the D:\Projects\Project123\AudioData directory.

In SPLAT and CbB I get D:\Projects\Project123\Project123\Project123.cwp and my audio in the D:\Projects\Project123\Project123\AudioData directory. So basically it's created an extra sub-directory.

Not a huge issue, as I can just quit out of SPLAT / CbB and move the directory... but something to look out for as it's confusing.

M.

Yeah, it is pretty easy to nest a project one level lower especially if you have been using per-project audio folders for any time. The process changed slightly when the "Use Per-Project Audio Folders" option was removed. It messed with me a few times until I figured out what it was doing. I got used to the new process and do not have problems with projects getting saved one level lower.

Would either of you recommend saving the "Auto-save copy" of the song to a different location than the song folders? So if the project folder is saved in C/ you save the Auto-save copy version to the D/ drive?

No, that is now how SONAR works. If you want to keep snapshots of a project they may be stored in the same project folder. If you want to keep snapshots with its own audio folder or just the project the project in a different location perform another "Save as." While SONAR has a default project location you may store and use projects from any drive accessible to the PC.
