You might want to post something here: https://www.facebook.com/PeaveyElectronics

They replied pretty quick to my questions.

OK, just posted on their Facebook page - shall report back when / if I get a reply!

Good Luck Nigel!

I did get replies back from support and you only need to insert the USB device long enough to start revalver 4 then you can remove the USB device until next time you start revalver 4.  Sometimes I wonder what the F... is going through the developers heads... I must say it seems like one of the dumbest copy protection schemes I have ever seen.

Other than the crazy purchase process and copy protection everything else is pretty cool.

I couldn't figure out how to buy it at the $49 price. Keeps wanting to charge me $99.

Got it done.  This software is pretty awesome.  I have only gone through the presets and built a couple of rigs for the last hour and I really like the responsiveness and tones.  There is much more than just distortion sounds.
The amps, speakers, mics, and mic placement options are really good.  This is going to be a lot of fun learning.
I am using the standalone version right now.

Yeah, now that I've calmed down and had a chance to play the Godin session custom through it I am really liking the sounds.

I kinda got stuck on a preset called Cascades Triplets from the First Impressions bank as the clean yet slightly spacey sound inspired some actual musical ideas. Definitely worth $49!!!

But the first thing I did was run the stand alone and forgot to put the USB drive in. It tells you it's missing and asks if you want to scan for it again but it will not find it. I have to shut it down through task mgr. and start it again with the USB device in place... This process is going to take some getting use to

Man, that's a deal breaker for me. I know it's not rational, but really, a dongle!

Depends on how you define dongle. At least it does not have to be an ilok but it requires some sort of usb device to be plugged in when you start Revalver. It does not contain the license but is somehow tied to your peavey account.

After it is started you can pull the usb device back out but if you don't have it in place when you start revalver, good luck... Why do they do dumb **** like this....? otherwise, it's a Great amp sim.

I know, I took a step back when I read dongle, too, Ampfixer. I don't really want to go down that road. I am really very satisfied with the tones and playability that I am getting out of Amplitube 3 and S-Gear.

Me too...and the good point that there are many options that don't treat you like a thief.

Was disappointed by the new improved dongle of choice crap and the grief it has caused to some of the honest users wanting to just fork out the cash and have it work..

This is probably a dynamite upgrade.

Will wait a couple weeks for some kid to post a crack torrent that works.

Will then apply for the upgrade, pay the price, abide by the license agreement and move forward with no worries..

It would be $12.95 to buy all the remaining cabinets (9 of them)...that's a pretty good deal...
the one remaining effect that's not included, Auto-Q, is $4.99...so for less the $20
you can have all the cabinets and effects....

The rest is ACT content....which are $4.99 each...too bad they don't offer a bundle price
on these....

No worries......thanks for confirming.
I'm very happy with the Amplitube 3 deal, and that has plenty of tones to keep me busy for quite some time.

My one complaint (so far)...no player...not that that is a big issue...but
it would have been nice to have an MP3/Wave player to play
along with backing tracks/songs...which I can do anyways...
just would have been nice to have just one program open...
like GR5, AmpLion Pro, etc... have...

I am happy with what seems to be a very low overhead on resources compared to GR5.
Still like a lot of Amplitube so I think these two programs will compliment eachother.

you need to register your iii.v serial number. At that point it will now charge you the $49 upgrade price. It was a crazy process for me....

This is where I am missing something. I got the $29 deal from MF thinking when ReValver came out with new version, I'd be eligible for the upgrade price.

But unknown to me what I bought was Revalver III, and not Revalver III.V which is required to get the $49 price.

Seems a little fishy to me, but what the....you live and learn.

There were 2 separate times that it was on sale...

The First time it was just Mark III @ $29

I got the second one...and I got a 15% discount on the the $29 price, which made
it like $25....

To show good customer service, seems to me that Peavey should honour all the Revalver iii users with that upgrade price.........seeing that the model numbers are so close, it'd be easy for anyone to get confused. Or at least mention it (at the time of sale) that "Does not qualify for any upgrades" etc.....

Possibly, you can all email Peavy and request this........worst case is, they'll say no can do.

Larry went back and looked at my receipt, it was back in April of this year. And on the receipt it says ReValver III, not Revalver III.V

The box I got say MKIII also, not MK III.V

I know of no free upgrade to MkIII.V

I amy get on PV site and see if I can do something/get something!

[edit] Went to Musican's Friend and looked at my order history. And sure enough I got MkIII. But it says that I will get a code to upgrade to MkIII.V for free!

Larry, how did you get the code? was it sent to you? I never got one.

Grem, the code was ON THE SHRINK WRAP of the box...I still have mine saved from off the box...
I never even registered III...I just registered the code that was on the Shrink wrap.
