wow, $149 each or $200 for both - and to think Valhalla's only $50 - and you get a BIG bonus with Valhalla - you don't have to deal with Native Instruments

Yet another announcement of new reverbs ... wow.

As for the pricing, compared with Lex PCM, UAD, ReLab, Exponential ... not bad at all (and in my experience, NI products are rock-solid from Day 1, unlike ReLab and EA).  If they give me something I can't get from Valhalla or the Breverb in X2, I'm calling them a bargain.  Will be demoing soon.

    Cheers,

If they on par with Phoenix or Relab $199.00 or 149.00 each would be a bargain.

The demos sound nice but I gotta say, between UAD EMT-140 and Valhalla being my goto verbs, these would have be touted as the next best all around reverbs to get me to spend $200 on any more reverbs. TBH I hve not even got near the 64bit version of CSR yet (and I own it).

Well, the Lexicon PCM bundle is actually 7 plugs.

I'm using the little MPX - which can be had for $99. It is a very nice reverb. Not sure I would have bought it in the first place, but since I got it for free, having worked w/ it, to me it is easily worth $99.

And then there's Valhalla, obviously. Hard to compete w/ these guys.

Yeah it would be nice to compare all these against each other, but I haven't been able to get Phoenix or ReLab to run in X2.  Unfinished products, if you ask me.  In contrast, the NI verbs loaded right up and are sounding great!  Very rich and lush, you might say ... much like the real Lexicon pieces.  I'll have to do further testing to see if Valhalla Room and Vintage Verb can match these.

MPX is currently $65 at Plugindiscounts...
    and LXP is $130....great prices
    PCM is $389 I think....

I love the NI's Reflektor reverbs for electronic music, but haven't been impressed with them on guitar or vocals etc. Might well try Valhalla based on the various raving I've heard about it online.

Though I do own a couple of their plugs, I'm not overly confident in NI. They have an awful track record when it comes to dropping products - almost as bad as Steinberg.

I do have their Solid Mix bundle. It works as expected, if not for the fact that they must be loaded into Guitar Rig. That being said, I can't say that they blew me away. The plug-ins merits have more to do w/ ergonomics inherent to SSL EQ's and comps than actual sound - the buss comp is pretty average, TBH.

But I don't think they're as good as the Duende stuff, McDSP's Channel G, or even Waves SSL.

And I feel the same about the rest of their plugs - none of them really wowed me. They do make great synths though.

Action strings is so very cool though. I have only done one "experiment" with it but I'm looking forward to using it in the right place.

Seems like lots of software companies are getting wise to both the constant desire of us gear heads to have accurate models of vintage gear and the pieces most desired.  Trouble is there are already a bunch of them already out there in a VERY mature market. Seems to me just continuing to turn out slightly different supposedly "accurate" models of the exact same gear over and over is not "where it's at".  Unless and until UAD comes up with some stuff I can't get from the original or several other competing companies I'm done with them.  And I bet I'm not alone.  The same could be said for NI or IK...they seem to be wandering aimlessly down the same garden path.  YMMV.

    I'm not alone.
No, you're not (WRT UAD). I likes what I have but it seems most items in the last two years can be had by competitors at a lesser price.

I don't have, Lexicon 224, Precision K-Stereo, Oxford EQ, Shadow Hills Mastering Comp, MXR-Flanger, ATR-102, bx_digital V2 and the SPL Vitalizer.

Myolpal, any those a must have from UAD?

I've had so much trouble with NI plugs in Sonar. They keep losing their settings when I open the project. I'll open it and all the dials are turned hard left. Don't know what it is about NI and Sonar but these are not problems I had with the same plugs in Pro Tools. I think I'll be giving NI a miss until it's sorted out.

I heard from a nother forum K9 "may" be out in April..it is not like NI to skip a whole year...
BUT not a lot of xciting things to make a K9 Ultimate  package, yet

seems like some are retooling their products --Cakewalk with the compressor as a stand alone VST, NI with their plugs that dont need GR to function,on the other hand new stuff, Waves with their Signature PRESET series, UAD with high end exoteric simulations,,
maybe for the new up and coming users, but for usold hands, I see we are weeding out out VST library..I think we have reached a ceiling AFA cost effective plugs .

I have K6&7 and skipped K8.  I had hope that K9 would be out by now and had planned on getting it by now, but was not going to get k8 if k9 was soon to be released.  Alas, soon has come and gone.  However, I will be one who will consider and possibly, well likely probably get K9Ultimate if it is priced similarly to the K8ultimate upgrade (under $500).  But, I will wait till Xmas holiday for sales and see if it's contents warrant the purchase.  It will come down to what is actually included in the "complete" package.  My luck will be that NI introduces a new three tier system, Komplete9, Komplete9 ultimate (same instruments as in K8 ultimate) and the new Komplete 9 EXTREME edition (which has the really new instruments like the Rick and the Giant and the new Reverbs...you know the features and components we actually want).
