Reversing reverb??

hmm my vst cello sounds as if there is too much reverb on it even though it doesn't have any reverb.
I tried double&triple EQ and I don't think it can be done with just EQ.

I want to make it sound less fuzzy and brighter.
Does anybody have a recommendation:(?

Nope, EQ won't do it. Downward expansion can. Something like Wave Arts' Multidynamics can tame excessive room sound or reverb, or suck it completely out if you want, although that sounds very unnatural.

There's not much you can do if you don't like the way something was sampled. You just have to keep looking until you find the sample that sounds the way you want it to. This can be a lifelong quest.
There are way to many samples that they have applied ambience to for my liking. I prefer to add my own. Some libraries contain both dry and wet samples of each sound.

Whay VST are you using. It may have an effects processor and it's on and the wet/dry balance is a little high. Sometimes these things are not terribly obvious and they are buried on another page somewhere. Otherwise the samples could be very wet as you say.

There are plugins out there that can remove reverb but they cost a lot though.

Good point about the efxs within some vst's. I have found the reverb turned on the Bass channel of many files when played through the TTs-1.
