Revisiting a relic

Was migrating a project between two computers. Had slopped in Rapture to play a piano and everything was crashing on the target computer, taking out my sound card requiring reboot. Frustrating.

Ultimately found the problem among the myriad of possible offenders. I had Rapture 32 bit and 64 bit both installed and the dll's conflicted.
Uninstalled the 32 bit version and all is working.

Made me look closer at Rapture. Lack of articulations making everything fake except for velocity. Nothing that could hold a candle to Kontakt and some of their gigabyte libraries, but...

Rapture is one severe synth. Many of the patches are incredible and just there as a starting point to refine user banks.

Glad everything on my rig was forked up enough that it forced me to look at this synth that was just gathering dust otherwise.

Right on, John, Rapture (Pro) is still mighty fine.

Haven't played with Rapture in forever. When I do, it's Rap Pro.

I always really liked the sounds/patches tat came with Rapture. And some of the expansion packs I got for it too were really good. Poor synth that never had a lot of love!

May do like you John, and dust it off and just see what it's got.
