Ribbon Mic - MJE-LR44, Cascade Vin-Jet, etc.

Just wondering if anyone has any practical experience with Michael Joly MJE-LR44, or the Cascade Vin-Jet with Lundahl transformer, or any other recommendations in that range (preferably closer to the low end of the range).

I've been using an NOS Panther ribbon for guitars and like the overall sound that the ribbon has, but I'm hoping for an upgrade that won't break the bank.  It sounds pretty good, but I know there are much better ribbon mics to play around with.  I started researching a little and, while I see recommendations for the Cascade Fathead, I came across the Vin-Jet with the Lundahl transformer mod and thought that might be one I would like.  Then I came across some info about the MJE-LR44, which is a little beyond my budget, but something I could save a bit for.

I'll probably be mostly using the mic for recording electric guitar in tandem with an e609, but I'm sure I'll try it out on a few other sources as well, such as classical guitar and maybe vocals.  My musical style ranges from classic rock kind of vibe to sometimes more modern sounding hard rock or metal.

I appreciate any feedback you guys can give me to help.  Thanks!

They call 'em fingers, but I've never seen 'em fing.
