Ripple edit warning
I have already asked for this opportunity and now I'm trying again. When ripple edit is checked and you tweak something, it is very likely that after that you forget that ripple edit is still checked and with the next tweaking you can combine a disaster. It might be very handy that in the control bar you can have something like an icon or some button flashing that minds you that ripple edit is still checked.

Hi. I agree that it would be nice with a visual feedback to show on or off. But it is most often a "single operation tool", same as the move tool, smart tool etc. You change back when done. All the best.

+100 I've already said that a hundred times. I often switch "ripple editing" on and off a few times. After 5 minutes I do not know if its on or off. And I also would like to have a dialogbox that informs me how many markes are deleted by this action. Sometimes "ripple editing" deletes some markers at the beginning of a moved clip, and then I don't know which tape was recorded at this point. When I were informed I could fix the problem before, and move the marker.

It would be nice if it were incorporated in the console view. A dropdown menu for the options and a on/off radio button the would be highlighted when on. YMMV.
The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better. +10 for some kind visual indication that Ripple Edit is still active! Had to spend wasted time yesterday re-aligning tracks to start on the downbeat of a measure so I could use the metronome again to record! Please Cake!

That's why changes like this are so potentially impactful - so IMO, hopefully control bar - I (almost) never have console view open. Even for mixing I tend to narrow all my tracks and mix in track view more than in console view. At the point in the project I tend to use console view (final tweaks before mastering) there wouldn't be much need for an indicator for ripple editing.

Yeah, but I also forget to switch back to Smart Tool after I have it selected for something else. But at least you can look up and see that it hasn't been switched back. Plus, the damage is far less...in fact sometimes nothing happens at all if I forget to switch back to Smart Tool. But on the other hand, forgetting to switch off the Ripple Editing can cause quite a mess. Even though this has already been discussed a few times here, I agree (again) there should be an indicator light or button that is always visible when Ripple Editing is on. EDIT: I'm not a programmer, so I wonder how difficult that would be to implement in the UI? Because that would make a great feature for next month's update.
