Save wherever you want on the download. You have to unzip and then install (to your Eco or BFD2 directory of choice). In BFD or Eco you can set multiple paths to sample libraries.

Yes, I need multiple paths... laff. I don't quite understand but I will give it a shot. I was able to install the Andy Johns kit for SD3 so I should be able to do this. J

It's covered in the manual, but here goes... Download the ZIP files anywhere you like... Unzip Part 1 and run the Windows installer If possible create a folder on a non-system drive for your BFD samples, something like: K:\Rock Legends When asked where to install the samples to point to that folder. After Part 1 is done installing repeat for the rest of the parts installing to the same location. After installing start up BFD Eco, it should scan for new data -- if it doesn't then in the Eco menu select "Rebuild databases..." You should then be prompted to authorize via FXpansion License Manager If you aren't prompted to authorize you'll need to set the Data Path in BFD Eco in the menu select "Set Data Path..." and add the folder you installed to (K:\Rock Legends in this example). Eco will scan the new data path and should prompt you to authorize. Authorize your serial number exactly how you authorized Eco You should then be set to go Let me know if you need additional assistance. Thanks, Rail -------------------------- www.platinumsamples.com

I seem to be doing something wrong... again. I can open and use BFD ECO in stand alone or as a VST in X1 but reallyI have not used it. I realize now that not only does it not seem to find this expansion but it does not see the Groove Monkee samples I got a whie back. I am tired... I think I will uninstall and try again tomorrow. I will try following the manual as close as I can... it is hard being an old fart sometimes. It wont be the first or last time I had to do something more than once.... glad tomorrow is Saturday! J

Platinum Samples keith FXpansion needs a serious upgrade on their download bandwidth. This is effing ridiculous... I just downloaded effing 96% of a 3.6GB file and it crapped out. No way to recover. And that was with an effing download manager FFS!!@!!!!1*(&#*!! No resume on a file that is supposedly resumable. every other download attempt the DM can't create new sections, so I need to restart the download.... "can't find file on server". I mean, seriously... you wanna play with the big boys... Email their support to ask if they have a server closer to your location you can download from. We have our kit mirrored on servers globally... select the closest server for the download. Thanks for the suggestion... no problem downloading the PS kit yesterday morning, but the FX downloads were terribly slow... had 3 downloads on 2 machines going, and speedtest showed that I still had 10mbit of a 25mbit connection available... oh well, the files downloaded eventually. I could almost live with the limited download speed, but the server errors are the most troubling... can't create resumable sections, etc. Maybe it's picky about download managers. Gotta suck it up... the Jazz/Funk and Percussion expansions are calling my name....

I sent an email to PS. I deleted al five parts and then reinstalled (unzipped) again from the saved downloads. I pulled up the manual and followed the directions. The Win installer offered me the same path as the ECO kit, so that went right, I left the install on Full, I hit next to install and I got a screen with changing pictures of different expansion packs and a installation progress bar at the bottomIt has been "installing" for about 30 minutes and is still sitting on 0% I have no idea what I am doing wrong... do you? Did I miss something obvious? I will wait for support to help me, I am not really in a hurry but I thought someone here might have an idea about what I am doing wrong. Well thanks, J

Well, turns out the Rock Legend promo was what I needed to jump on the BFD (Eco) wagon. Unfortunately, the "here's your serial number for Rock Legend" e-mail which I received afterwards did not contain any SN, so I'm waiting for a reply to my e-mail. Still, I managed to install BFD Eco - after I abandoned the idea of installing it on my external HD, because the installer systematically claimed that there was no space left - despite over 1 TB available. I must say the installer gave me the impression of a Windows application running in a shell on Mac OSX... And in true Windows fashion, it kept on running even after I quit it. Just like the old days... Anyway, I ended up w/ 2 different FXPansion and BFD folders for whichever reason, one being absolutely empty, just sitting there in my Applications folder. Strangely enough, the BFD root data preference was pointing to the empty one, so I had to select the correct target folder manually. I've played w/ it in standalone mode for 15 minutes. Then it crashed. Man, I'm impressed. Hopefully those Platinum Samples will be as good as I thought they were when I re-listened to the demos.

bapu You can never have too many drums. AMEN BROTHER! My problem is convincing my sweet little lady to get rid of the living room and dining room furniture to make room for more drums. I even told her I wouldn't buy any drum sets unless she approves of the finish. And I tend to lean towards the natural looking instruments as I love to see the grain of the wood. I mean come on! Scroll down THIS PAGE a bit and check out some of the sweetness. We only use that damn dining room table like once or twice a year. I say toss that thing to the curb and let me put some real artwork in there. I believe she's being totally unreasonable here. Do you think you could maybe have a little talk with her Bapu and perhaps help her see the error in her thought process? Mike?

I'm not going to suggest Eco will make you stop using superior drummer but you'll find it a huge improvement on EZdrummer and as for ease of use it's no harder than EZdrummer unless you want it to be. Who knows, you may find yourself wanting BFD2 somewhere down the line Steve
