Rockabilly Cat (Rockabilly)

Hey all you hep cats and dungaree dolls.  WMNF Community Radio for Tampa Bay is sponsoring the 8th Annual Rockabilly Ruckus on the 18th of this month.  So, I've been listening to as much rockabilly as I can to get prepared.  Listening to it all made me want to do it and the following song resulted.  Rockabilly is supposed to be all about having fun, so I hope this might bring a smile to y'all's face.

BTW, does any one know why the internet radio station Rockabilly Radio is not broadcasting any more?

As usual comments, suggestion, crit's., etc. are appreciated.

Dig ya latter cats and kittens.

You're a real cool kitty and you come from hip city.

Maybe kick the guitar up, its a little weak on the solo.  A little more twang, nice reverb.  Maybe a littel slap back delay.

I'm listening at work, can't hear much for drums.

It's got the vibe, good tune.  Crank it more!  Cool lead breaks.

Love the song, but I think it needs more attitude!  Crank up the guitar and drums!

Nice sound you hit the aura perfectly -I would say you could crank up the drums some...

Not trying to sound weird or anything - but you take that tune; eliminate the vocals and bring it down to 1:27 seconds with the various changes and the Gymnastics God's would give you a lot of money for that tune (lot's and lot's of sales on this).

Obviously, I have a daughter in the sport and the music don't come cheap and the parents/clubs are willing to pay...   Just a thought

Yep, the tune's cool and the tracking seems spot on.  I like the guitaring.

Should you do some more on the mix? Seems that balance between kit, vox and guitars isn't always right (perhaps vox compression is required?) and the kit seems distant and a little MIDI-ish.  Some 'verb?

Maybe even some old-fashioned 'over-reverbing' that seems prevalent in some of the early 60s mixes where they had trouble controlling the plate?  That might give it a real feel.

Hey thank you Robby.  I was famous in the '50's  ---- in my dreams (born too late).

Thank you Bub.  I had a barrel of fun doing this one.

Thank you Daryl.  I was trying to keep a more retro style on this (you know -- when even '50's rave-ups sounded sedate to today's style) --- but, I think that I need to follow your advice and kick it up.

Hi Listen.  I agree the drums could come up some.  Thanks for the information.  I have not heard about that but I'll be seeing what I can find out.  Thanks also for the feedback.

Thank you Dan.  I appreciate the feedback.  I have been a bit hesitant in using delay/reverb because of my penchant for misusing it.  Hey, but this is Rockabilly, how can one have to much reverb?  That is the sound of '50's Rockabilly.

Thank you Scotty.  I'm glad you got a giggle from this one.  I had a lot of fun doing it.

Hi Grant.  I'm very glad that you liked it.  Thanks for listening and the feedback.
