Roland OctaCapture, V-Studio 700
I'm not in need an audio I/F yet as the one I have, an E-Mu 1820m, works fine on Windows 7 64-bit with SONAR X1a. But it is 5+ years old and I'd rather get an idea of what's out there that works well with SONAR. I'd rather retire the 1820m leisurely in the coming months and not have to scramble for a replacement.
The V-Studio 700 would be my dream choice and I would get it in a heartbeat. Cost is the barrier preventing me from doing so. This is probably the case for 90% of SONAR users.
Now the second choice is the OctaCapture. What is appealing about this is not only is it supposed to work seamlessly with SONAR, but it is also compatible with V-Studio 700. Both pluses and makes for good argument to get one in addition to features like 8 XLR ins and auto levelling. The later I'm not so confident about without actually trying it or hearing others' experience with it. The biggest plus, applying for a loan is not necessary!
Can anyone comment on Roland OctaCapture? I have browsed the 'net and found favorable reviews and a couple YouTube reviews as well. If you do own one, what are your thoughts?
Thanks
John
