Roland Quad Capture , Latency issue.. ** Solved **
When my project's get's about 30 or more tracks , Playing the keyboard I get a very noticeable latency , At 512 and at 256, sometime's 256 it won't even play. Very Odd my Tascam card never had this problem, I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do, Freezing tracks is a pain in arse., Also If I solo a few tracks I'm able to get a decent latency. My hard drive has 60 percent free and Im only using about 2.0 gigs of Ram out of 8 gigs. Is there something else I can do with Buffers? About to 86 this card very soon, I guess you get what you pay for. Thanks for your help and suggestions.. John

Wow DJ this is unexpected... Have you found a tipping point? ie where it goes from good to bad? Do you use the DPC button at all?

I have had the Quad Capture for 3 months now and have had no problems at all, with anything. Many people have thier daw configured differently so I cannot give advice on what the problem is on your system, but I have seen very few reports of latency issues with the Quad capture and I believe that your problem is not the Quad capture, but a configuration issue with your daw and mabey certain plugins. I would not ditch that interface yet if I were you. Good luck.

Do you use the DPC button at all? Never used it before for virtual instruments. Just did now, and what do you know perfection.. Ty Evzevz it didn't occur to me to click the pdc button.. Thanks John..

:) Hey cool! Glad it helped. That button was a game changer for me, but in my case I use it for monitoring audio live as I record. I simply redirect that particular track to the main outs while recording, bypassing the bus plugins and any latency they introduce. it's awesome!

It is in the "mix" module, right below the Mute button. beware, I have had issues with perfect space while using PDC... Your mileage may vary.

Is it PDC or DPC? I don't see either on the unit or software. Also strange that google pulls up nothing for either. I know this is an old thread but am having horrid issues with Latency with the Roland compared to my Echo Layla I used to have it is unusable.

ok so it's the PDC button not DPC and it is located in Sonar itself in the control bar, mix mod section
