Roland UA-22 DUO CAPTURE EX USB Audio/MIDI Interface

http://www.musiciansfrien...interface?src=3WWRWXGP

Anybody try this?

How is the sound?

How is the low latency performance?

This could be the bargain portable solution right here, knowing Roland has been kicking butt on their drivers!

Cheers,

Lance

    Bump.. I don't have a DUO..

I'm thinking the Quad / Octa are similar in quality, except in the number of inputs - my main reason I've got my Quad, to test if I should buy the Octa.
I'm also thinking my Quad is more like a 'duo' now as I've never use the other 2 input/ouput via coaxial.

Here is my Quad capture performace :
    @ 44100 sampling
    48 samples / round trip 6.5 msec
    64 samples / round trip 7.6 msec
    96 samples / round trip 9.8 msec

I'm usually at 96 samples working with soft synths (it's fine too at 64 samples).

    Still haven't tried this.

It has great 4 great reviews on Sweetwater but none of them mention low latency performance.

    Anybody?

A bit late to the party here I know - I've only just seen it via another thread link.......

If it helps I have just bought a Roland Tri-capture UA-33 and I'm running it attached to a HP Elitebook 8760W with an i7-2670QM @ 2.2 GHz and 12 GB RAM.

It goes down to 96 samples / 2.2 msecs and that gives a reported round trip time of 10.5 msecs (7.3 in & 3.2 out). Direct monitoring is possible via a switch.

Whether that is similar to the UA-22 or not I have no idea.

    Hi all!

FWIW, the Tri-Capture and Duo-Capture EX are both lacking the V-Streaming technology found in Quad-, Octa- and Studio-Capture.

Duo-Capture EX has got the same preamps as it's larger siblings though.

Performance should be comparable with Tri-Capture.

    Best Regards
    Ludvig
