Routing EZ Drummer through busess

Hello guys,
I wonder if you can help me. I've started using EZ Drummer and I have four tracks that I want to rout into a bus to control levels. However, it's not working. The output for each track doesn't show the name of the bus. It just shows "Master". When I initially send a track to the bus the input shows "omni" for about 10 seconds then goes back to "none".

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Hi. Which version of SONAR do you have? You might have to create those buses. How is your MIDI connected?
    All the best.

    Ken,

Sorry, I'm using SONAR X1. My MIDI is connected via USB port but I don't use it to generate the drum sounds. I just use the loops provided.

I would guess that you only have a master bus in your project. Open console view (C), and on the right side (next to master), right click and insert new bus. Call it drums. You should now be able to route your drum tracks to the drum bus.
    All the best.

    Ken,
That's what I'm doing. I'm using buses for guitars no problem. I'm making a drum bus and trying to route the drum tracks to it but nothings happening. I thought the problem was perhaps because EZ Drummer is MIDI.

When you loaded EZdrummer did you load it via the synth rack using the, "insert synth options" and did you make sure to assign either all synth outputs stereo or mono?

It sounds to me like you might have just output EZdrummer to a single stereo master bus so you're not seeing the other options.

Are you using SIT, or do you have individual Synth / Audio and MIDI tracks? I do not think MIDI can be directly routed to a bus, as it as not an audio signal. You would have to route your synth outputs to your new bus.
And check the advice twaddle gave.
    All the best.

I use X1 and EZDrummer.  When I insert EZDrummer from the synth rack, I choose multiple outputs and then send each sound's audio to a different track.  (In my case, it's usually 1-kick, 2-snare, 3-hihat, 4-toms on one stereo track, and 5-overheads/cymbals on one stereo track—but you can do it however you want.)  Then I send these audio tracks to a drum bus.

    Does that work for you?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the suggestions so far. This is what Ive been doing and what is happening when I do it. I load EZ from the synth rack and the soft synth options window pops up. When I choose "All synth audio outputs: stereo" 9 EZ tracks load up. When I choose "All synth audio outputs:mono" 17 EZ tracks load. If I choose a track and copy a loop from EZ there's no sound even when the output is set to Master. If I create a bus and send it to the bus, there's still no sound.

Konrad, can you be more specific about how you use EZ? How do you choose multiple outputs for example?

    Thanks

    Mike

I don't have EZD, but if the copied loops are MIDI and you're dropping them into audio tracks, which is what the 9 or 17 tracks are, there will be no sound.
If they are MIDI, paste them into a MIDI track that has it's output set to EZD.
