Routing changes with x3e
I used to be able to select as output from a track or bus, various hardware outputs as follows.
FF1-2 left or, FF1-2 right or, FF1-2 stereo
Now, no matter which single one I select all 3 options become ticked. It doesn't matter if the track is mono or stereo. The problem this causes is that I can no longer select a mono output.
Inputs can still be selected singularly or the stereo option.
Anyone else want to see what results they get.

I noticed that all three L/R/Stereo options are now checked, even when one side is not used by any output but it doesn't appear to be affecting the ability to route signals to mono outputs, independently, except in the case of External Inserts which have always used up both sides of a stereo pair and can't be routed to an output if one side is already in use.

Hmm I'm not seeing this issue, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. Is it possible to have a screenshot posted? I might be missing a step here.
Thanks...

Thanks brundlefly Even though it doesn't prevent you from routing to a mono output it now becomes impossible to tell which side of the stereo pair you're connecting to. I have to do more testing later this week but I don't think I can connect to adjacent mono outputs as the whole stereo output is taken up with that one out put taking up 2 tracks. Not quite sure how to word it. I'll see if some others find an issue with it. Aint it strange; I open a new update and within 30 seconds I uncover an issue that didn't exist before when this is the update to fix all things.

Granted it's a little confusing/misleading, but as far as I can tell it's just a display issue. X2 and earlier versions didn't show check marks next to the currently assigned output in the listbox at all so you can really just ignore them. As in those earlier versions, the Output widget still shows that it's assigned to only one side of the stereo pair after you make the selection. And mono output assignments still function independently as intended.

I tried to select outputs in X2 and Stereo outs are the only options there. Can't see any changes in X3e. I'm using RME fireface UFX

In order to be able to select mono outs, you have to enable the Mono Outputs checkbox at the bottom of the Devices page under Preferences > Audio.

Glad to help. The learning (and re-learning) never stops with an app as deep and broad as SONAR.

Thats true. By the way, there's no checkmarks when selecting outputs in the external input module....

I experienced an identical problem. I've reported it to Cakewalk. I hate to think I'm going to have to wait months for this simple fix. It does appear that all audio is routed correctly.

These two statements seem contradictory. Given that the actual routing is not affected, I don't see how this is such a big deal. The channel name in the Output widget is still shown correctly; it's only the listbox that's wrong, and you only see that when you're making changes. Once you've assigned something to an output, how often do you go back in to change it? And if you're changing it, aren't you more concerned about what you're changing it to than what you're changing it from? Sorry, but this really seems like making mountains out of molehills. To me the biggest problem with this issue is that it will confuse those who aren't yet aware of it. Once you understand it, it's of very little consequence.

I also used "appear" in my initial assessment. But after checking it out, I'm willing to say with certainty that there's no functional problem related to the misplaced check marks.

Although the audio is routed correctly when requested, the display is confusing to say the least. If I choose a left or right explicitly, I expect that left or right is checked and not all of them. I do have the mono output options set in preferences too.
