Run....... Some frantic, jazzy electronica with a sprinkling of guitar.

Another track from my pending folder i've revisited to give it a hopefully better mix and mastering job.

There are some little bits of guitar in there somewhere if you can detect them. ;-)

Hope you enjoy.

So, John, why is it pending?  I loved this one.  The groove, the change-ups, everything.  It sounded done to me.  Really liked it.

    Thanks Phil. Glad you enjoyed.

This track is quite a few years old and i've revisited it so many times because i could never get it sounding how i really wanted it to sound, mainly in the percussion area. I think i've just about cracked it now though, so hopefully, this one is finally out of the "pending folder".:-)

I'll never understand this genera, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate it. I like this one much more than some of the others? It has a warmer quality to it.  But doesn't feel to heavy in any one area/spectrum. Love the electronic piano tone. If I had to make any suggestions? I may say kick it in the ass a bit on the master? What I learned a good ways in was that the bass is actually "an acoustic bass guitar?" So Either keep that, and add a sub bass to accentuate it? Or just boost the lows on the mains. However, keep in mind? Anything I say may be, and probably is wrong? :-)

I did enjoy your tune though! Sometimes, it's difficult for music of this type to hold my interest? But this did just that...

This sounds like a finished product to me, John.  I like the strong percussion which drives the song.  One of the hardest things to do as a self producer is to know when enough is enough.  I'm sure you could do any number of changes to this, but it works for me.  It would be ideal in a film.

Love how you have taken this heavy industrial beat/sounds and then throw a blend of space/warmth.  I'm really liking the synth used at 1:44.  GREAT work!

You seem to have a way with percussion that I am somewhat jealous of. Good work John.

Thanks Robby. Pleased you liked it. :-)

Yeah i'm not surprised that you prefer this one over my previous ones as it's probably the least "electronica" sounding track i've done.

I have messed around with adding a sub to the acoustic bass, but did'nt really achieve what i wanted. I may try again sometime, but i don't thik it sounds to bad now.

    Cheers.

Yeah i think i'll finally call this one finished as it must have been a wip for about five years now i think.   Pleased you liked the percussion as that's the main area i was never fully satisfied with, but now i think i am.

    Thanks.

Mark - your production sounds really good on my system.  It is clear and punchy.  Love the textures.  Good job.  I like how the piece unwound at the ending.

I love the tempo changes, they give a considerably different feel to the song each time.  The percussion sounds great and as usually you have crafted a great sounding tune.  Stick a fork in it -- it's done.  I would say very well done!  Excellent stuff John.
