Runtime error with CA-2A, LP-64 EQ, and VST scan
I did a lot of testing on this runtime error issue many are reporting with CA-2A, LP-64 EQ, and VST scan and have determined in my situation it definitely has something to do with having an internet connection. As strange as this sounds I carefully eliminated all other possibilities that I could think of.

I have lots of Acronis images of my C drive that I can revert back to when troubleshooting. I tested by reverting my C drive back to 3 previous images of 2016.09. All were different builds. ON all these tests I started off by disconnecting my network which consist of 2 other computers and the internet.
Each image test I booted the computer, double clicked a CWP and opened Plat 64 bit. I tried this about 15x total using 3 different images. I then left the internet disconnected, but reconnected my other 2 networked computer. and did the same test 4x with no crashes.
I then reconnected the internet and tried it 4x with no crashes, then 35 min later, when something from the internet had a chance to affect my computer, I tried it again and it crashed the 1st time. Then 2nd time it crashed and this time I tried to open a 2nd CWP. It wouldn't open and in task manager it showed SONARPLT still there and I couldn’t end the task, I tried several times.
I rebooted and this time opened Plat to the default template that has no plugins. That worked, I loaded CA-2A fine. Tried to open a CWP and it crashed. Again Plat won’t close, it shows up in task manager and I can’t end task.
So I uninstalled CA-2A and Engineering FX Suite in Control Panel and now I opened 2 CWP files with no problems except them stating it was missing CA-2A and LP-64 EQ. So apparently this was the cause for the run time errors. I then went to Command Center and reinstalled CA-2A, Opened Plat and VST scan stuck on CA-2A for 7 min, I closed Plat and rebooted same problem VST Scan stuck on CA-2A. I uninstalled CA-2A and this time reinstalled an older CA-2A from 2014.
Opened Plat, scan finishes, but in plugin manager there’s no CA-2A, so I select Scan VST’s, it doesn’t find CA-2A, then I check the 2 boxes in options and scan again. This time I get a fatal error on CA-2A and VST Scan crashes. I reboot a few times and now I’m stuck. VST Scan keeps crashing and it’s not finding other needed plugins.
So that leaves us with the question is why are these problems happening with an internet connection and not happening when I don’t have an internet connection? Is there some kind of internet database for Cakewalk that’s affecting my computer? This is the strangest bug I’ve ever experienced. Usually reverting back to an image file from 10/23 (when things were fine) would work.
