Ryan Munnis - Tech Guru

This is just a quick shout out to Ryan. Its guys like him that renew my faith in tech support. And that's a tall order. I swear over the last four weeks I have spoken to him at least 5 times. Each time not only did he have the right answer every time. He was quick, informative, witty and I don't think he at any time referenced any thing other than his noodle for the answers. His VS700 update instructions were spot on. Cause if this guitar player can get it right the fist time. Anyone can!

If you have had any encounters with Ryan like mine. Give this post a bump and let him know.

Thanks Ryan. You Rock!

For tomorrow I push record!

Binny  ...aka Vince

Live to play.

Yeah gotta say that the CW presence in this forum has been a considerable help and confidence booster.

Today I shopped the Avid site and caught myself wondering why... it was purely because their surfaces are so damn fine and pro looking. Full stop. Sonar is mighty incredible and the 700 combo can't be beaten price wise IMO when you compare eggs with eggs... well at least when you actually 'shop' for price. It's really the weird sides and all that gray that make the 700C 'not' look as good as it actually is.

    Cheers... and bump.

    He's been great.
One of the most important things to consider when looking at a DAW is quality and ease of support.

I don't know what the big fuss is all about. Every time I dial that guy's extension his phone system plays me his personal voice-mails and he's yet to call me back. Something seriously wrong there... ;)

In all seriousness, thank you all for the kind words. It's always a pleasure talking to you folks, though I wish it wasn't usually under circumstances when things are not working :)

Though I must add, my phone does ring often just to hear that things are working great and that someone is calling for an unrelated easy question (like registration codes or conceptual questions).

Although no system, or support rep, is perfect... I think the number of pleasant conversations I've had with V-Studio customers speaks volumes about our users, the rest of our support staff here at Cakewalk, and what excellent products the V-Studio 700 and SONAR really are. The great thing about our staff here is that even when I occasionally do strike out, which I do, there's always someone else who's willing to jump in and share their expertise to find a solution.

We all learn something new every day.

    Thanks again!

    Bump!

+1 For Ryan. If it wasn't for him, I would've sold my VS700 from the first week. It wouldn't install properly, x64 hang ups, crashes, dumps, you name it. And now, I'm a happy and loyal Sonar V700 user with no problems.

I refuse to talk to any other CW support people other than Ryan. He knows everything about Sonar and the V-Studio's, plus a great attitude.

Thanks for everything (again and again)

And one more for Ryan! That dude has helped me out a ton. Extremely professional.  A lot of my faith in Cakewalk and Sonar lie with my experiences with Ryan. I hope to meet him someday so I can thank him in person.

It's a pleasure to "pile on" here.  Awhile back I got my VS 100 (I know, 600 digits below you guys!), and was having trouble with the fader.  He quickly figured out I was treating it like a controller fader (pushing from behind) and not gently pushing down from the top.  After solving that, he proceeded to give me all kinds of useful tips and info.

Like someone else in this thread said, the biggest part of my high regard for Cakewalk is based on their tech support, and Ryan in particular!

I agree.  I just installed the VS700R (using it atypically- without the VS700C) and he answered a couple of questions I needed to get it up.  ...and quickly.

ssshhhh. i jumped the fence from v studio 100 forum... changed the 1 into a 7 on my i.d. card.

anyway, whatever piece of  cakewalk gear or software you use, he can troubleshoot your technical issues... always has for me and i was (and for the most part, still am) completely computer illiterate.

    thanks ryan, youda man!

    give him a raise already...
