SD3 Midi drum loops---added, then deleted, yet still making sound???

Okay, not exactly certain what's going on.  I added a midi drum loop as a scratch track, then second for the 'verse' and recorded guitar tracks.  Then I wanted to go back and edit the drum patters, but I would delete a 'loop' and it would still play audio.  The only way I could eliminate it was to mute the midi track.  As it sits, the midi track is completely empty, yet there is still the drums.

Help?

Here is what I'm guessing. Somehow in the SD3 the play and or (loop) is being triggered so even when you are stopped it continues playing.

Makes sense.  I just deleted the synth rack, then added a new one.  But man, i really don't want to get all involved in this and lose all the drum programming.  We'll see.

Yeah, I can't reproduce it though I'm certain it's happened to me before. Someone else was complaining about that today.......

I did a search before I posted, in the search menu, not scrolling though the threads.

okay---now this is weird.  Same problem was happening again, and I closed out of the media browser completely, and that fixed it.

I think this is what I get for using so many #4's in a song.

That would happen too, I'd be previewing the loops, and then go 'play' on main console, and the preview would start again, along with the song.

But now, even with the synth browser on the right closed out, it's still got drum audio.  It's in 'track 3'., with track 1 being guitar, track 2 midi, and track 3 the Session drummer track.  It's only in track 3, tho, there's nothing in the MIDI track meter or anything.  I haven't routed drums to separate tracks in the mix yet.  But if I put a drum loop in an area of the midi track, it still stays there.  Sometimes.  I can't duplicate it exactly, but basically, there's drums where I don't want them and I have no clue how to get rid of them.

okay, so I hit 'freeze synth' and waited for it to mix down audio, problem gone.  hit 'unfreeze synth' and problem still gone.

    not.  weird. at. all.

freeze/unfreeze totally works, fixes it, etc.  i deleted track/synth, then it came back, but now, with come careful editing, i've been able to continue with my task.  ahhhhh.....whew.  Others try the same thing, see if it fixes the problem for you.

Still have the prob with SD3 browser wanting to duplicate clips, and when I try to 'write' a step sequencer drum program, it's considerably 'softer' in level than the loops i've brought in.

Oh well, one battle at a time!

i actually might have something far enough along to post on the song page.  Haven't had the problem again.  Still playing the #4 chords, but this time playing them and not really meaning it.  Perhaps that exorcised the demon.
