SEQ-S Spline EQ | Nugen
New release, looks sweet-- SEQ-S gives you powerful sonic sculpting and EQ matching up to 7.1, with stereo mid-side operation and automated spectrum analysis. Massage and correct any audio with incredible resolution that you just can’t get with a traditional parametric interface. A direct-draw interface and detailed spectrum analysis make it easy to quickly identify and specifically fine-tune your audio. Couple this with EQ matching via sonic fingerprinting and you have some unique possibilities. Match one recording to another Beyond traditional EQ, you can also use SEQ-S to capture the flavour of a piece of source audio and then transfer it to your current work – great for restoration and harmonisation work. Or use the same technique on individual tracks to unify different takes, microphone positions, and more. Create 'perfect' space The EQ Invert control gives you a minimally-invasive technique for creating space in a complex mix where traditional EQs are just too cumbersome. By ‘sampling’ the vocal and applying the inverted the curve to the backing, specific space can be gently created without unnecessarily altering the original tonality of the underlying audio. $249.00 http://www.nugenaudio.com/productdetails.php?pid=22

I'll try the demo for the matching function but for mastering I already have Equilibrium. I like Nugen products (except for the high retail prices) but he rarely offers many sales or promos.

It certainly is pretty but pricey. I think Melda offers more for considerably less

MAutoDyanamicEQ is a BEAST! What a great plugin!!! And I paid 1/5 of the price of this one...not 7.1...but I'm ok with that...

It's nice but not worth the $$. The matching feature works fine but I never use that for either mixing or mastering. A 30 day demo though.

I know the the Nugen plugs are nice... But I think the days of the $250 EQ plugin are gone... Even at half that price is pushing it now (IMO- don't beat me!!!) Even Pro-Q slides in about that price...but that is an exceptional plugin also.. But still overpriced. Too many EQ's....IJS....

That plus their products are geared more for broadcasting / restoration co's rather than the average hobbyist or casual musician. There's also a 'Send' vst in the install option but don't know what that is or used for..

It looks beautiful, as all of the Nugen products do. But $249 and iLok - no thanks. You can do most of the same things (less the surround support) with Voxengo's CurveEQ for $89.95 and no iLok. If spectrum-matching is your main motivation, MAutoDynamicEQ is the easiest way to do that, with Ozone a respectable runner-up.

The pic looks better than the actual plugin which resembles the older Monofilter/ Stereoizer, which are small & average looking. I never cared for it's preset browser either, a bit clumsy. You also don't need an iLok to auth..

Maybe CW could borrow some of that sexy "glow" for the Quad Curve EQ. That's about as close as I'd be getting to this...

My mistake. I saw iLok troubleshooting information on the web page and assumed. It appears they offer two versions of the product: iLok and non-iLok.

I already have an account there which you need to access the dl files but it's a simple install. There aren't any auth. files or process, (unless it uses my info for my previous registered ones) just a nag screen when opening the plugins. 30 day trials are nice to try expensive plugins that won't be purchased.

I had a tech issue with a Nugen product a month ago. Within hours I was in correspondence with a support person and he took the time to replicate my observation and pass the info on to the dev people. That kind of great service and the free upgrades to the x64 AAX stuff as it comes out has made me a big fan of the company.
