SFZ Player

Just a quick one, music lovers....

What's the point of SFZ player? Is it worth having? What's it good for?

I'm not being rude about it, i just want to know if it's worth having.

    you might get a better response in the instruments forum
    that said sfz is a sound font player of adjustable quality -- up to very high quality
    there's a free no-frills version and an inexpensive version with some extras

    it does a good job of playing soundfonts which can be found free on line
    the quality of soundfonts available for free varies quite a bit , but there are some very good choirs and orchestral sounds out there (papelmedia)

    sfz was Rene's earliest research with soundfonts which evolved eventually into Dimenison Pro

    someone correct me if I'm wrong, but soundfonts can be imported into Dim Pro as well

    Soundfonts cannot be imported into Dimension Pro. It is based on the sfz format.

    Don't forget to tip the guy at the piano.
