S-Gear "The Jackal Dirty" patch
The Jackal! I like this amp. I've been experimenting and trying to dial in a sound close to what I get with Sonar and my Favorite plugins. Post one has a dry preset, and post two has the same preset refined with FX and a 9ms delay to the left speaker. I'm struggling a bit with the reverb. I'm playing to quiet to hear it properly. I'll tweak it more later. http://www.scuffhamamps.com/forum/9-presets/7477-a-nice-jackal-preset

Let me know what you think. I know you'll have to tweak it to your guitar, but I would like to see what you change.

I have a Seymour Duncan Hotrails in the bridge of my Strat...so I can see were that could work. Did you find it to be too dark or bright?

Excellent! Good news. Hopefully more people will share some presets. I always find it interesting. The Pro convolver has a lot of tweak-ability.

I appreciate the preset Clint! I'm primarily a bassist, so guitar is a bit of a different animal for me. I'm not exactly a tone monster, though I can get around the fret board pretty well. I pretty much only use amp sims (S-gear and Creme) so any good presets are welcome!

Well I thought it sounded good...so I hope a few people like it. I'll add a clean Fender-ish preset soon.

Nice biting tone on both those. Cool delay, again sounded great on both guitars.

Since you've been speaking so highly of S-Gear (as well as a lot of others in here), I'm going to start saving up for this package.......although I still have PF Platinum, A3 & soon A4, and GR5.......it's like drums, you just can't have enough rooooight? How does this compare to BIAS FX?

Can't have enough is right!!! You'll have to ask Larry about Bias, I don't have that one.

Bias and S-Gear are running neck and neck for me right now... I like the FX in S-Gear slightly more for "lushness"...
We'll see if A4 lives up to the Hype - r realism it claims and dethrones them...

For me BIAS FX is a hole 'nother level to S-Gear 2, I haven't touched S-Gear 2 since getting BIAS Amp Pro and then BIAS FX Pro when they came out, I would also through TH2 Full above S Gear, when you spend enough time understanding how it works, how to get the most out of it, it really is a gem as a lot of folk have found. I have always been able to get better sounds (to my ears) easily out of TH2 than S-Gear 2, plus TH2 has the works, almost everything you could desire, and all top quality. While good, I have always felt S Gear 2 to be over rated, I tried using it quite a few times after my initial 'WoW' when I first heard it, used it, but not once kept it in the mix, always replacing it with TH2, and now BIAS Amp/FX as well. IMO you would be crazy not to get BIAS FX and put it through it's paces for as long as it allows before committing to purchase any other amp sim. Oh, and for all your distortion needs, don't forget 'BIAS Pedal' is being released tomorrow, I have been using this for a while as part of the explorer program, AWESOME, again you will need to learn/understand it to get the maximum, but straight out of the gate it is pretty inspiring As with everything, this is just my opinion, and it all depends on your 'bent', what you are into bla bla bla, so YMMV

I like several of the amp sims to be honest, but I can't afford to have them all. I decided to keep and maintain my favorite two. S-Gear and Amplitube.

Try "The Duke Clean" patch too Michael. It's further down in this forum. I like it with my Strat in the neck position.

The patch sounded really good Clint. The only change I made to fit the song that I plugged it into was to raise the gain a little bit and raise the bass just a little bit.

Is that on the Jackal or Duke patch? Mt Strat has a Seymour Duncan Hotrails in the bridge...so it has a bit more grunt than a single coil. I'm still fighting with the reverb a bit. One uses the 'Hall' and one uses the 'spring'.

Just tried both your Jackal and Duke patches; thanks for all four of them. They sound very nice. Have only tried them with my 4-way Telecaster with Bill Laurence (Wilde) L200/L202 NF singles. Your Duke is very responsive to the four different pickup selections. These will be keepers. Thanks.
