S-Gear v2.25 Released | Scuffham Amps
11/2013 S-Gear v2.25 is now available for download. This release introduces ProTools 32 and 64 bit AAX format for ProTools 10 and ProTools 11. ProTools 10 users must be running v10.3.6 or later. ------------------------------------------------------// S-Gear v2.2 is released today for the following formats: * MAC Standalone, AudioUnit and VST3 * Windows Standalone and VST2.4 Once again, this is a free update for existing S-Gear customers. As well as the new Wayfarer amp, this release also brings loads of other improvements and several bug fixes. For a full list of features and fixes, see this forum post. The new Wayfarer amp is easily the most versatile amp we have designed to date. It feels like having a selection of vintage Brown and Blackface Fenders, along with a MK series Boogie all rolled into the same easy to drive amp. We hope you have a lot of fun getting to know this amp, and hopefully it might inspire some new music too. Please take the time to download the new user manual. There is a fairly detailed section on the new Wayfarer that will certainly help you get the most from this amp. Don't forget, when you download and install v2.2, in order to access the new Factory Presets you should browse to the F00-F99 presets, or select FACTORY on the preset list. Your User Presets won't get updated. http://www.scuffhamamps.com/ Wayfarer demo clips on SoundCloudIf you haven't visited scuffhamamps.com recently, then you have yet to hear some fantastic Wayfarer amp demos by Jerry Stevenson, Brad Craig and Zabukowski. There are a few more demo tracks still to come, so look out for these over the next week.

I had to send them an email for support because the login information does not recognize my name anymore nor my email address and won't reset my password either. So I sent their support a request for help. Can't wait to play with the Wayfarer--the demo's sound nice. Oh my, must now wait, but at least I know that Scuffham Amps will help out; they have always been good responding to emails in the past.

The update was simple & no problems so far. Just tested the Wayfarer with my '66 335 & it's very nice. Great tone with this combo, going to check it out on the Paul & strat next. Great job by Scuffham, as usual.

The update is great - really adds a whole new dimension to the Amps. It's working great in Samplitude pro 9 and Reaper. Stand alone works great. Sonar 5.2 fully crashes when launching S-gear 2.2 - which is a big deal as I have virtually every workable piece of music in Sonar. I'm hoping there's a fix for this - or if I can install V 2.1 and v 2.2 concurrent.

I did install both and S-gear had no issues, but I couldn't get the VST scans for Sonar to sort itself out very well - multiple scans and a few re-boots- and it couldn't seem to get 2.2 out of it's registery and 2.10 in it.

Got everything down loaded and scanned into Sonar's plug in manager. Opened up a session and checked to make sure The Wayfarer was there. I just have not had time yet to take her for a spin.

The install instructions say that it leaves the old version on there and warns about keeping the paths correct during installation.

I read that warning in the instructions too but I just installed over the previous & it replaced the earlier version's files/ dll. I don't have Sonar installed at the moment but re-scanned & opened it in Cubase. The new version & presets are all accounted for, no crashes so far. I haven't checked the registry yet although I did clean it with Acronis before the first use.

Friends, Great upgrade and about all one could want. FWIW, looked at my arsenal of guitar processors and weeding out the excess. S-Gear in the lineup. Still using Amplitube and Guitar Rig. Using AcmeBarGig Headcase for sustain and howl that none of these can come close to. Plug & Mix overdrive and distortion units are incredible. Think they still have a free offering for one of the plugs if you like on facebook. Check out the California Tone. Another brilliant overdrive option (tho you'll need a noise gate...) is the forgotten Tinbrooktales plugs. Seems abandoned, no updates for years but the retro archive is still there. This was way ahead of its digital time and cool even now. I sequence one compressor into the next to up the heat. Several to choose from. http://hem.bredband.net/tbtaudio/archive/archive.htm Good stuff if you don't already have these. Back to the point of the post. Good upgrade to Scuffham. Quick response from the dev if you have problems. 100 bucks well spent for a license on 2 computers. John

Just a quick note that Scuffham has a new download @ V 2.21 that fixed a crash when launching Sonar X1 and earlier versions of Sonar. Also took care of a similar crash launching Traction. Posted today 9-9-13.

This is very good news. Just over the past weekend I was enjoying whatever version I currently have and was thinking about whether Scuffham had issued any upgrades. Will have to download this evening. I think the S-Gear sim is my favorite but I do like some of the more bizarre effects in GR5. Regards,
Mike Win8(64), Sonar X3e(64) w/ RME Fireface UFX.

I finally had a chance to run the Wayfarer through some paces last night. Sound's really nice. It is almost like having 3 amps in one.

I too ran the Wayfarer for quite a while last night, and I am mighty impressed. I will also reiterate what some others have said: the presets are FANTASTIC. Given how many parameters there are, how integrated the EQ sections are with the various gain stages, and all the cabinet and speaker combinations you can use, it can be daunting to get the most out of each amp. The SGEAR folks know these amps inside and out, and really supplied some wonderful sounding presets. Even as starting points, they are truly great sounding.

Has anyone had any problems with S-Gear v2.25 and Sonar X2 64-bit? I uninstalled my old version of S-Gear, installed the new version, and now Sonar X2 hangs up trying to load the S-Gear VST.
