SHS7 - Midi is audible and shows on meters but does not record

Hi All,

I'm using my midi guitar into an Edirol UA-25 USB interface into Sonar HS7 on
Win XP SP3 w/2 Gb RAM.  I'm getting sound and it's showing on the meters of both the midi track and the synth track (TTS-1 in this case).  I've tried recording
on both the midi track and the synth track by arming the track, and pressing the spacebar. I hear what I'm playing, but when I stop, nothing has been recorded.

I don't have a clue what I'm doing wrong...this never happened to me before.
Any clues for the clueless?

Thanks for reading, thanks for responding and thanks for helping those in need !

you must use the MIDI track to record MIDI data, don't try to use the synth track.  what exactly does your INPUT on the MIDI track say?

'Spacebar' is generally a shortcut for Play, even when the track is armed to record.
'R' is usually the shortcut for Record.

It sounds like you were simply playing along.

    Thanks Beagle and Slugbaby,

I think you're both on to something. My midi track input is set to Omni, and output to the TTS-1 synth.

I'll try "R" instead of spacebar, and see if that works. Thanks again gentlemen !
