SI-Drum Kit

Is there a way to get more the drum tracks (electronic and pop, hip hop, etc. ) I have seen screenshots and I have seen some I do not have. Also I am wondering if I can get more of the kits. Thanks

    I looked around the site a bit and could not find any additional sound packs for SI-drums. I'd email the cake staff and ask about that.
     
    I've always thought that the SI series synths in cake were more like starter synths. Most folks at some point buy the more functional and versatile commercial third party offerings which do support many more sound packs.
     
    I don't think I have ever really dug deeply into the SI stuff I have in my DAW, using other synths most of the time when I need a synth.

    Smartloops is the company who provided the MIDI for Session Drummer 2 and SI Drums.  they provide General MIDI loops only and there are not supposed to be any proprietary mapping with them.

    they have GM loops for sale which I am pretty certain should work with SI and SD2.

    I actually think they **MAY** be SoundFont files, .sfz or .sf2 ... I'm not completely sure if that's the case, but if so, they're easy to find all over the internet or to even make your own

    Some clarification and confirmation, if you are still watching this thread, malaker.
    As guitarhacker noted, the SI synths were designed with simplicity at the forefront. As such, they do not have the flexibility of more complex products.
    SI drums are mapped to GM2, so GM MIDI files will work with them, as far as patterns and rhythms. However, the kits(the sound) are proprietary, and to the best of my knowledge, are limited to what comes with SI.
    If I am following the direction of your question, I might suggest upgrading to X3(basic version).
    This would give you access to Session Drummer 3, which has several add-on kits available.
    As a registered user, this would be $49US.
    Well worth considering.

    Thank You! I believe my research has been leading me down the same path, besides the drums there are several other improvements to be had for about the same price I spent on MC6. Maybe after the holidays I can get it. Superior drummer and BFD seem really interesting, I used to use sound fonts a little but hated punching in the beats and they never quite sounded right.

    if you can afford Superior Drummer, then I would advise going for it!  it's excellent and much better than SI drums, or even Session Drummer 3, IMO.  I"ve had it and EZ DRummer and a lot of the expansion packs for several years.

    Thank you, I will try to save up what I can find on you tube superior drummer looks very cool.
     
    I also found MT Power drumkit 2 and I was wondering what you guys thought of that.
