SKIPPING!!!
My Playback is skipping. I have a feelign it has to do with the buffer, because when I change that to safe, the skipping significantly decreases, but its still there. When the buffers bigger though, it causes some playback delays and messes up the loops. Any suggestions on clearing up my playback without it screwing up looping?? Thanks Farid

This is the curse of built in sound cards. It is almost always a compromise between smooth sound and latency(delay). What do you mean by messing up the loops? Are they being altered, or is it just the timing?

What sound card do you suggest that wont put a huge dent in my pocket? My computer is a couple years old, but its specifications supposedly meet the minimum requirements for this program easily, but i want to make sure i dont buy the sound card then realize its my processor or ram. I have pentium 4, 2.5 ghz, 504mb ram. The loops are messed up in that it plays more than the loop i set before it goes back to the start. so like theres a delay in restarting the loop. Thanks

I don't know for certain that buying a new sound card will fix the problem you're describing, but its a possibility since your latency is probably very bad with the onboard card. here are my recommendations for sound cards: http://homerecording.beaglesound.com/9.html

I'd suggest getting a new soundcard (Beegle has some great suggestions on his web page). You also might want to consider adding more RAM to the computer maybe?

I just love skipping! I do it where ever I go. Frolicking through the mall...shopping at Home Depot...Grocery stores...Guitar Center... The only problem is that I can't find anyone willing to accompany me to these places anymore. I wonder why? Just stopping in to say "Hi" and see if anyone's paying attention.

It's pretty bad if your own wife won't accompany you to the mall!!!

If your loop starts at the beginning of measure 1, you might want to move it to a later measure (I've always liked 4). It takes the computer awhile to get started at the beginning of the track, so moving it back lets it catch up while nothing is playing. More memory can't hurt, and a better sound card will help. Greg
