    Hi, James and Larry,

Wow, this is just a true thing of beauty and a breath of fresh air!

I'm on my third listen.  I knew I was going to love this from the first piano notes, then the warm, "lonesome" sounding guitar tone of those classy solos floated perfectly over the gentle percussion and warm synths, and I was hooked.

Wonderful musicianship by both of you, and the arrangement and mix are really top notch.  You've got another brilliant gem for your SMB collection.

    Fantastic work, boys!

How nice of you to offer us a few crumbs! Loved the chilled-outness of this one, great synth sounds. The synth solo sounded a little out of time in parts, but loved the tone. Nice lead patterns. Not a full loaf, more of a cob, bootiful!

There are some pieces where the music just screams out the title at you and this is definitely one. More than a social statement, more than a plea for change, this is a demand for justice for the dispossessed. OK, you may have gathered by now I like it! And I never use a few words when a hundred will do!

Very pretty tune.  Nice use of the synths and of course the guitars are great as always.  Your song avatar really set the mood for me.  Great job, boys!!

Great song Larry/James. really liked the piano. I thought the flute synth was great. James, it's unusual to hear an amped up electric used with such minimal percussion and soft backround music as you do in this and a lot of SMB tunes. Very exposed and you do it well.

This is really nice. I'm with Warren on the picture.
The line that separates the fortunate from the less so is surprisingly thin.
You guys were instrumental in preventing me from being the guy in the picture.
A crust of bread. When you can truly appreciate that, you see life on a whole new level.
Love the flute. It flits about like a bird. Like hope.
Yeah, this tune speaks to me. And that is what it's all about.

Thanks Herb, nice of you to have a listen, glad you enjoyed it.

Cheers Mark! It does have a nice chill-out feel, really pleased you enjoyed it. I also like how 'COB' is also a name for a Crust Of Bread..kind of neat eh?

James, Larry - this is absolutely stunning gentlemen.

And as polished a production as you've ever delivered guys. Watch out James, I think Larry's after your chair at the mixing desk

As always, a complete pleasure to listen to an SMB masterpiece.

NICE!! The piano was great. Really good job panning everything on the mix to give it space. And that electric tone (and playing!) were sweet.

Enjoyed it "right from the start" and throughout. All the parts fit well, and were performed and mixed well. Great job gentlemen. Good job of emulating a flute on those keys, good technique.

Hi Rik, thanks a lot, we appreciate the compliments!

Rhyno - thank you - that's an interesting point you make, I hadn't thought of it that way. I guess Larry and I have been doing this for so long it's become 2nd nature to have those sounds working together.

Ah Bob, always nice to get a comment from you, so pleased you liked it and it spoke to you, thanks very much.

+++1 song        something about that percussion bell hits in the mix

suggestion----- the hits need more air--space or something ---push them back --- competes to much with the playing flow of the guitar

I don't recall hearing Larry play piano before, maybe it just didn't jump out at me like it did here. It all sounded very pro. I feel refreshed and relaxed after listening to this. Thanks guys!

Piano sounds great. What are you guys using?

I was gonna ask the same thing when I heard the first few bars.

I dunno 'bout social statements having been ordered to lay off the pies recently, but I know a nice tune when I hear one.

It's nice to be back around and able to do a bit of participating and seeing a new SMB tune lying around was sure to bring up a bit of quality.

You guys sure deserve an award for achieving such consistent high standards.

Steve - thanks mate! Larry sent me such a nice mix of his parts I didn't want to ruin it, so I took the lazy way out and just played me 'leccy.

James - phew, always nice to pass the Yoyo Test! Glad you liked this. Lemme ask me pal, and I'll report back on the piano.

    Edit: Piano is from GPO.

Dave - thank you kindly! I agree, Larry got the mix just right, and I love the reverb he's using.

    John - thanks very much!

so nice to see you guys doing what you do so well. Very haunting piano (awesome emotive playing), the guitar sounds so cool, not sure what the effects are but it's killer for this piece. the melodic lines you're playing, James, are perfecto. a very enjoyable treat for these worn out ears.

Paulo - I think you're right, chosing the tones carefully goes a long way to making mixdown  flow more easily. Thanks a lot.

Thanks Scotty! Funny, I didn't know Larry could play piano like that until a few weeks ago..we've only been playing together for four years!!

JB - many thanks, glad you dug it. Good to see you back with a great new mix too.

Thanks very much Rick! The guitar has a little chorus and delay and Larry added some Pultec eq and reverb.
