Larry and James

You guys just fit together so well.

Now here's what is wrong with it.

The guitar at the 10 minute and 40 second mark has a freq of 2k34 zerches that is off by .0004 tz.

The violin's 5th string is out of tune. That can be fixed by using a left handed screwdriver and adjusting the ball peens on the back of the skirt. I am really surprised that you let that get by you.

The back up singers are way too loud. I could barely hear the bombs bursting over their clamour. Fix that with new backups.

The lead vocals are also out of tune almost the whole way thru. The only fix for that is a .44 from Remington. That's a program that always works.

Other than that it's perfect.

LOVE the music; hate the title. To me, this is one laid-back tune that doesn't give me the tension and release I was expecting from the title.

It's up there in that lofty zone all your other stuff is though - VERY nice to listen to!

(At a motel, laptop) I always love how your sweet acoustics give way to sweet electric tones ... finally strings give it final impact.

I'll try to listen later on my better speakers where I'll be able hear your percussives.

This has a great feel to it - I agree the acoustic sounds great but then I've grown to expect nothing less from Larry! Loved the percussion and the lead part at around 1:30 was awesome!! A lot of stuff going on - not too busy but definitely a nice contrast from some of your more spare arrangements. The fade out at the end was a nice way to end it.

Great job!!

You know when you listen to a song for the first time and you're a few bars in and then an arrangement change or new instrument pops in that that just brings a smile and it fills out to this warm and content feeling where you forget about any critique and just get lost in, and with, the song?

Well this is one of those songs..simply lovely.

Lots of beautiful sounding instruments by the way. Not sure why the name "Bracing for impact" per se...I guess if you're heading for some type of catastrophe...then this is the song I want just before impact.

Cheers

Don't ask why about the title..just..'cause...

Ah, yes...Nothing like kicking back with your guitar and a cold brew on the patio, watching that thermal cloud build in the distance.
Might as well have a good time. Whatcha gonna do...run?

Beautiful piece. All the acoustic instruments sound great and I love the electric guitar tone. Sorta reminds me of Robert Fripp. Very, very nice!

Agree with all the comments- this is absolutely fantastic! I can't even describe how the mix of those guitars evokes a magical happiness, for lack of better words. The pic doesn't match the happiness of this piece! Any chance of performing this live and posting on youtube? Thanks for comment on "My Like is Ordinary". mike

Ron --- You never use a screwdriver on a Violin !!! Your confusing this with that darned old 5-string Banjo, bud !!!!

This is simply a wonderful tune .... So was the title inspired by the History Channel - LOL -

Hi, Larry and James,

Wow, guys, another stellar piece of music that's both beautiful and thought provoking! The intruments and performances are excellent, and the mix is crystal clear and smooth as silk. The acoustic guitars sound warm and full, and the electric guitar tones are spectacular.

Another fantastic job, guys!
