SOLVED: Addictive Drums 2 - Question regarding installed kits
Hello, I have Sonar Platinum with the added Addictive Drums 2 that came with it. My question is what kits are available with the standard install with Sonar Platinum? When I click the Preset button at the top of the Addictive Drums screen, there are only 3 choices available: - Vintage Years - Live on Stage - Startup If I cycle through the kits, I also have Machine, Chemical House and 70's Kit. Is this correct for a standard install? I see references on other youtube videos and discussions about a Fairfax kit and others. Are those only available through add-ons through XLN?

None except the demo kit. Platinum includes a voucher which must be redeemed at the XLN site which is good for your choice of 3 kits, 3 midi packs and 3 additional kit pieces. If you have not redeemed the voucher you are running the free demo version of AD2. http://www.cakewalk.com/S...tallation-Instructions

scook, thank you for your reply. I think I did all that to get what I have so far, I've also posed the question to XLN on their support site and will relay that response whenever i receive it.

I've reviewed manuals and introductory sonar platinum videos and it's getting more confusing the more I research. One thing I've noticed is that in the demos I've watched, AD2's opening page has a "Gallery" browser. Mine does not have that, and starts with "Kit". Is "Gallery" only an option after you've purchased and installed new AD2 content or should that option be there after the initial installation?

Are you sure you're not looking at the first Addictive drums instead of AD2? Preset names sound familiar.

I suppose I could be but I was under the impression that a full version of Addictive Drums 2 was included with Sonar Platinum, I did go through the process of logging into XLNAudio's website, registering and downloading 1.2 GB of content. So I've definitely installed the product, just trying to make sure I have what I"m supposed to have :) At the 1:21 mark of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnzJaqtLARI it shows the "Gallery" of available content. I don't have the "Gallery" button or option. Maybe it's as simple as not having redeemed the voucher and downloading the additional content as "scook" referenced in his reply. I can't remember doing that, which probably means I haven't. So I'll check that out. I sent XLN an email detailing the issue but have only received their automated response.

You might be on to something, when I start the XLN Online Installer it has a checkmark next to ADDICTIVE DRUMS 1 and says everything is up to date.... so now the problem is how do I get AD2 installed. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Tom, It sounds like you're opening Addictive Drums (1) and not 2. You can try this: 1) Open Addictive Drums 2 in standalone mode 2) Click on the "View" button (top right) and that should show which AdPacks you have installed 3) If that's not working, open up the XLN Audio Installer and Update the Adpacks (update all) Once everything is updated, it'll show you (under Addictive Drums 2) the Adpacks you've installed....then you can go back to step one. If all is well in Standalone mode, then it'll be the same in Sonar (just remember to open Addictive Drums 2)

SOLVED: Thank you scook and beltrom for your input and assistance. As a result, I realized that I only had Addictive Drums 1 installed. How I did that, I'm not sure. I looked up my Cakewalk account and got my Addictive Drums 2 product code/serial number, went to the XLN site, to the My Account page and entered my Product Key there. As scook detailed in his reply, it allowed me to choose 3 ADPaks, 3 MidiPaks and 3 ktpieces. On this side of the solution, it seems relatively simple, but on the other side, you don't know what you don't know :) The help is much appreciated.
