[SOLVED] How to keep the Track View in sync with the Now time?

Hi-

I'm embarrassed to say it, but I've forgotten how to do this.

Let's say the Now time is at 24:01, and the Track View is displaying bars 21 to 29.
I press W (RTZ). The Now time is now at 1:01, but I'm still seeing the same measures (21 to 29).
I can right-click on the scroll bar and select "Left Edge," but I'm sure there's a better way to keep the Track View in sync with the Now time.

Thanks-

-Susan

As I recall there is a feature that locks track view - and that is some kind of editing.

Track View -> Options -> Click behavior -> Left Click Locks scroll

"When you are done with the edit and want the Clips pane to scroll again during playback, click in the background of the Clips pane to clear auto scroll"

Hi Susan...

Are you referring to having the screen roll with play?

I don't have access right now, but is this what's going on?

Table of Contents Previous Next Index

Arranging and editing ► Arranging clips ► Auto scroll lock in Clips pane
Auto scroll lock in Clips pane
While editing, you can prevent the Clips pane from scrolling horizontally during playback. This allows you to focus on the edit location without worrying that the screen will eventually scroll away from the edit location.
When the Left Click Locks Scroll option is enabled (default behavior), the Clips pane will not scroll if you click any object in the Clips pane. When you are done with the edit and want the Clips pane to scroll again during playback, click in the background of the Clips pane to clear auto scroll lock.
To enable/disable auto scroll lock
Click the Track view Options menu, point to Click Behavior and choose Left Click Locks Scroll on the submenu.

Any help?

Hi Lars-

I just tried that on and off, and I'm still not getting what I'm looking for. If I rewind to zero, I'd like the Track View display to start at bar 1, where the Now time cursor is. Maybe I'm crazy or I've just been using other DAWs for too long!

Thanks-

Perfect, Keni!

It wasn't a SONAR issue at all, but the project I was working on has FL Studio inserted as a VSTi, and that automatically turns on the Scroll Lock. I'd forgotten all about that, but sure enough, when I turned it off SONAR scrolled to the correct bar display.

Thanks so much!
