(SOLVED) I'm Sure This Has Been Answered But...

(This part is new.  In the Cakewalk Store, if you hold the mouse over the the "buy now" box there's an option in a drop down box for "upgrade."  I was clicking on the "buy now" button all the time and there are no options on that page for upgrading- or none I saw.   Yes, the price is 50% off.)
Thanks for all the help from everyone.

I'm busy and can't go looking.

I'm a long-time user.  My membership expired last October.  I think I'd like to upgrade (although everything is fine now) but I'm seeing the price is $499.  It says I'm logged in but...  Is that about right?

You do have to click the "Buy Now" button to open the cart but you are not asked to pay at that time. When the cart is open there is a space for a "Promo Code."  Enter your X-series serial number without periods or dashes in the "Promo Code" field and click the Apply button (below the red arrow).

In yor case you must insert your platinum serial number...

Thanks.  I appreciate the response but that didn't work.  I copied and pasted my serial number into the promo code box and it says invalid promo code.  Any other suggestions?

$500 seems steep to be less than a year out of date...  I could almost buy a ProTool license for that price.  Anyone from Cakewalk care to respond?

I've tried the serial number from my existing license of Platinum- a few times- in the promo code box.  It says "invalid promo code."

So I'm suspecting the upgrade price for me is $499.

I'm not a happy camper about this.  I've been a Cakewalk client since Version 8- 10 years maybe?  I was a rolling subscriber until last October.  I'm less than a year out and am being charged full price for the updated version of Platinum?   Not good.  I've never considered moving on but may just in protest.

I hope I've missed something and if I have will certainly apologize but $499 for an upgrade for CURRENT Platinum user is a ripoff.

This is the forum for Sonar Platinum, right chucky?  I'm a licensed Platinum user.  I'm trying to upgrade.  So I come here to ask the question because I'm not seeing anything in the store but $499 for the upgrade.   I've tried checking out in the store three different times.  Therefore I'm taking for granted that the price to upgrade is $499.  I HOPE I'm wrong!  But if I am someone needs to make this process easier for Jesus sake!...

Pershing - the current offer is for X1 - X3. Maybe you've seen the thread. http://forum.cakewalk.com...-31-2017-m3621872.aspx
Have you tried an X series serial number in the discount field? It's possible or even probable that an upgrade from Plat would be lower at some point in the future. I don't know. You should be able to get 50% off now.

Thanks Brando.  I clicked through the links you supplied, entered my current Platinum serial number in the promo code box but get an "invalid promo code" message.  So I'm stuck where I began.  I have a message to Cakewalk on Facebook and in the Cakewalk Store forum.  Appreciate it.

I would appreciate your posting your answer. I have a similar problem. My Platinum upgrade is a little over 1 year, expired 2 months ago and they said the upgrade was $250 or $25 a month. I also am not happy. I am a user since it was only a midi sequencer and upgraded to every version. That's about 20 years.

Don't know if you noticed or not - his first paragraph in the original post (choose upgrade instead of buy now) resolves the issue.
