[SOLVED] Latency Problem appeared suddenly

While working on a simple 3 track project, my system developed unworkable latency. Can't really say there was any move that triggered it, but I went to record a MIDI snare track on Addictive Drums 2 (which of course, cannot have any noticeable latency to play), there was too much latency to even try. You can see my system in my signature. It's plenty fast, and I have had NO problems before. My RME interface says 512 with 11.5 seconds latency. It's much more than that, and I've run this system with even less latency. It's not just MIDI. I tried running a hardware synth into it and got the same delay.
I imagine this is something simple that I've just forgotten, but I have to finish this project. Any help greatly appreciated.

Okay. Found the problem. In System/Advanced System/Performance, some gremlin had set it to "Let Windows decide"....I'm pretty sure I didn't do that, but nevertheless, returned it to "Adjust for best performance". Also under "advanced", set the processor scheduling to "Background Services". I'm sure I had these set that way before, but who knows? In any case, back to normal.

Should be set to Programs Performance, not Background Services according to CW a long time ago.
