SOLVED Overloud REXP Impulse Library on sale, not the same as IR's from Dan Gonsalez

In the AudioDeluxe newsletter I saw 125 IRs from Overloud for ReMatrix for $49 ($44.95 with account)and thought, aren't those the same as what we just got last month (or was it January), as Platinum owner/users?
http://audiodeluxe.com/products/overloud-rexp-impulse-library-rematrix?mc_cid=97eaac29ff&mc_eid=672748e8ef

Anyone?
Thanks
Michael

Overloud's site says that these are for Rematrix Ver 1.1.  I'm guessing they won't work in the PC version.

Shouldn't impulses work regardless of version?

An impulse is an impulse. The only time they are tied to a specific convolution engine is when they are in a proprietary format.

I want to know if they are the same ones, I already got from Cakewalk. But it is interesting to know that IR's are importable regardless.

Not knowing how the library is packaged, I would ask Overloud directly if it is compatible with REmatrix Solo

Good point, Steve. I assumed someone from Cakewalk would know, but that is more direct.

I should be getting it soon.  But I doubt it is the same.  This collection is for the 5 engine version of ReMatrix, not the single in SONAR.  It has 150 impulses, which can be pulled into the SONAR version (I guess - haven't done it yet) and 100 new presets which won't translate over.

FYI, REmaTrix is a very nice reverb, 5 convolution engines plus a master channel strip out w/ an algorithmic reverb taken from Breverb.  Tape Op should have a review soon.

I'm pretty sure that what Dan did is unique to SONAR. FWIW I think he does great work.

BTW I'm working on some interesting impulses as well. I don't think they'll be ready for the next update, but they take an entirely different approach compared to what Dan is doing. Like my amps, they're more about "idealized" reverb responses...think of them at "CGI rooms."

"CGI rooms", huh...     I'm sorry, Craig, but it seems like you are having entirely too much fun.

PS... still lovin' the amp sims!   Used four of them in a project (along with two of Dan's impulses) and they sound great.

Craig and AT had the right idea!

    Here is Overloud's response........

The 126 IR pack is not the same as the REXP library.
The 126 IR are expansion packs, Big Room Pack and Small Room Pack, have been engineered by Dan Gonsalez.
You can load those IRs in REmatrix Solo or REmatrix as user IRs, but they are intended to be used alone- singularly.

REXP, instead, is a multi layered IR library tailored for REmatrix.
The presets coming with the library make use of the IRs “the REmatrix way”, which means that you’ll be able to model the final reverb by trimming up to five layers of components. So this is really a different approach if compared to the single 126 IRs expansion pack.
This is just to describe the difference between the two expansion IR libraries.

Hope this helped. Don’t hesitate to email me back in case you have further questions.
    Best Regards,
    Alfonso De Prisco

So, there is the definitive answer!

Craig....... I look forward your CGI spaces! Years ago, I bought a Carvin SX50 amp, after reading your bit about it being " an idealized overdrive sound"(I'd buy another if I could find one like I had. Blonde tolex 50watt). I enjoyed that amp a lot and if your new IR's are your current pet project, I want to get them, too.

They'll be free to members, of course. I already have three done, I'll probably do about a dozen total.
