[SOLVED] Overloud TH2 Upgrade - Out of serial numbers
:: Finally sorted out, thanks. :: C'mon Cakewalk, give me my damn TH2 Upgrade serial number. It's a tad annoying buying a new toy and not being able to use it straight away. You managed to give me my Breverb serial number within minutes, so why the long wait with TH2? You've been pretty good lately, so what is the problem now?

that's not good. I don't want to get into a thing where I buy and have to wait to long. I guess the demo it 14 days thought? Still, I'm not a patient waiter.

a bump. I want to get the full version. I hate the demo restrictions, but it's obvious that I like the product. I'll bump this until cake responds.

At any rate, there are people waiting for SN's that need to get them and was hoping to have this at/near the top of the pile for when cake comes in. Always a shame when people feel they need to do a drive-by.

I want to know how these serial numbers are manufactured. Are they made out of some precious metal or rare wood? Are they waiting on a delivery?

LOL I was surprised to see my post with replies haha. call it what you will but it's an embarrassing world trait right now Whatever dood. I'm an old git, plus I'm british, therefore I am well used to patiently waiting in qeues or waiting for something I've ordered to take days to arrive. However, let me explain something here. One of the supposed great advantages of buying software online is that, in most cases, you can use that software straight away. When I upgraded to full Breverb I got the serial number straight away. With TH2 also being an Overloud product I figured that I would also get the serial number for that straight away. That didn't happen, which was fair enough, because the instructions said that Cakewalk would provide the serial numbers with 30 minutes. That didn't happen either. And it still hasn't happened. Now, if I was told before I placed my order that I would need to wait for three days for the serial number, I would have still bought the product and I would patiently await the issue of the serial number. But when you are told that the serial number will be supplied within 30 minutes, it is a tad annoying when it takes many days to get sorted out. It is a Cakewalk thing, and this is not the first time it has happened to me this year. Fingers crossed it will be sorted before I get home from work today. But did someone say "holiday?" What's that then? Are Cakewalk off today (Monday)? Bummer if they are...

a) It's doesn't take a genius to figure out that if you get the breverb SN's straight off, you should get the TH2 numbers. b) The d___b___ in question seems to have directed his witty and highly intellegent comments at me specifically, completely disgrarding people who PAID MONEY for the update and have not gotten it. What a weirdo. c) Yes, stupid idiotic "columbus day" is a holiday here in the great ol' USA, so it will likely NOT be until day after. d) Why don't I have a spell checking on in IE (since I have to use IE for this forum)????

Is it me or is twifobysea a troll, and a dim one at that? You raised a perfectly reasonable point. If he went to buy his weekly groceries and the supermarket took his money but didn't give him his monkey nuts and lite beer for several days, he'd be pretty miffed. I've had this happen with serial numbers from cake, usually over a holiday of some sort, and emailed them. I always got the impression that they sorted it out the second someone went in to Cake after holiday and saw my email. Often, oddly, on a Sunday afternoon. Hope it comes soon. I'm thinking of upgrading to either Breverb or TH2, so tell me what you think of them, as I can't decide which.

Hi jb101, I've had Breverb 2 full version for a week now but I've not really pushed at the boundaries yet. I fancied have all of the algorithms available, but only because I'm a bit greedy. I think that, if you were only going to upgrade between on or the other then it would have to be TH2. In my opinion, the Sonar version of TH2 is very light on the range of amps and stomp boxes and stuff compared to the full version. Don't get me wrong, both Breverb and TH2 a very usable in their cut down form, but I think you get more bang for your upgrade buck if you get TH2. As for twoifbysea, and others like him here, I find it a bit sad when I see peeps do things like this when, at the end of the day, we are generally here to help each other. I'll admit that I sometimes might thing "what a whally" when I see someone asking what I might consider to be a daft question. But I refrain from doing so because is just doesn't help anyone and would make me look like a prat. I find it best to back out of such posts and keep my opinions to myself, and the general community looks a lot better for it, again, in my opinion...

A wise man once told me "If you can't keep an adult attitude in front of something, then walk away." I may add that to my sig. On the most part I've found people here to be very helpful, you just get the odd one. I'm new to this whole internet forum thing, but what little I've seen of others, this one seems quite special. Both the members and the Cake staff. Thanks for your thoughts on Breverb and TH2. I really like Breverb, and understand your being "a bit greedy". I'm the same. As for TH2, a lot of people on here seem to love it. I already use Guitar Rig 5 and Amplitube 3, but have not had enough time to play with TH2 to see if it justifies the upgrade. I think it's the strongest contender for my cash at the mo. The other thought is upgrading to the full TruePianos. So much to buy, but hard to justify getting them all in this financial climate. A small voice inside keeps saying "Learn the tools you have", but then the gear lust descends..

My apologies folks. Football games and beer on a Sunday afternoon/evening are a great combination. However, Football games, beer and forum posting apparently are not. I assure you that it won't happen again. That said, I've found it much more productive to simply pick up the phone and call Cake when I have a question or even just send them an email rather than post your rant on the forums and hope for results. jb101, great investigative work. Well, almost. I'm actually not a troll but I am a bit dim I suppose. And if you'll review the previous post of mine to which you are referring you'll see that the language, attitude and delivery are in fact very different than the same upon which this post is based. Have a great day :-)

@ jb101 - Well, yeah, I know all about gear lust, which is why I've upgraded to TH2 even though I have GR5 already. @ twoifbysea - I've been a member since 2006, although I have posted seven hundred of my posts since June this year, mainly through upgrading to X1 and then X1. If you go back over my many posts you will be hard pushed to find any posts that use the same "language, attitude and delivery" that I use in my original post. It was said in a kind of jesting way, but with a bit of serious annoyance thrown in. Almost "tongue in cheek" but I would forgive anyone for not realising that because I didn't use any emoticons or stuff. And I still feel a little bit peeved that I can't get my hands on all those extra amps/mics/stomp boxes etc. But it's not all that important because I'm sure the issue will be resolved shortly. Have a great day ;-D

Synkrotron, I just checked and it looks like you have a serial number now. Not everyone uses the same emails on their forum as they do their Cakewalk accounts, so I couldn't look up all of you. Everyone who was waiting for one should be all set. If anyone else is still waiting give us a ring and we'll get you squared away.

twoifbysea Synkrotron - I get it. Again, sorry about my crappy delivery. Excellent! And now we move on, cheers :-) Hi Ryan. I notice your post was eleven hours or so ago. I got home from work last night and had a pretty horrid attack of CBA and didn't even turn on my laptop. Went to bed for a pre dinner nap. Next thing I know the day was done. First thing I did this morning, while having my breakfast, was checked my account, before coming here. So yes, serial number is there now and I have duly registered my TH2. Got to go to work now though, dammit LOL! Thanks for sorting it during your day off. andy
