(SOLVED) Platinum and Kontakt 5..won't record midi events

Hello all, I am trying to record using Session Horns in Kontakt 5. I have loaded the instrument and it plays fine. There is midi activity on the midi track. I have set the input to omni, output to kontakt 5 and midi channel to #1. Everything works great until I try to record something and nothing. It seems like Sonar Plat is seeing the midi data but does not record it. I've gone into midi preferences but do not see anything that would help. This seems to be within Sonar because I tried the same thing with Sample Tank 3 with the same results. If I use the step sequencer Sonar records the events but when I input note events manually using my controller keyboard Sonar doesn't record the midi events. I'm sure I'm missing something simple. I created a new blank project and loaded Kontakt and Sonar recorded the midi events fine, so I guess it is something specific to the project that I'm currently working on that is causing this problem. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi. I am not sure if I understood your problem, so sorry if this is obvious. If you do hear sound when playing (notes inserted, but not when playing your controller keyboard), maybe try to change the MIDI channel from OMNI to channel 1 (if they are single channel Vsti's)? Are you using Simple Instrument tracks, or separate MIDI and audio tracks? If using SI, maybe try to split to separate tracks (right click and choose split tracks? If this is not helpful, I hope someone else will come to the rescue
    Best of luck.

OMG I'm embarrassed to say that this problem was the result of an incredibly stupid user error! I had the record punch in engaged for farther down the timeline and I didn't realize! duh Sorry for wasting anybodies time.

Thanks for your thoughts Zargg 71, as per usually it was user error that was the culprit! Cheers
