(SOLVED) Slingshot Automation?
This is another one of those "I'm hoping it's already in there, but I just don't know how to do it" questions, but if it's not already possible, I'm curious if anyone would find this feature useful...
Picture this...
You're in the process of automating level adjustments near the end of a mix... You BASICALLY have the volumes for all of your tracks set to where you want them, but just need to "boost this for a second" or "lower this for a second..."
Solution:
Hold down a hotkey (does it exist?) so that when you bump the vocal track up a few notches for a spot that needs a quick boost, and then let go of the fader/mouse/whatever, as long as you're holding the "slingshot automation" hotkey, it would immediately snap back to the position you had it before giving it the quick bump in volume.
Is that currently possible? Obviously I can boost, and then quickly try to move back to where it was, and if I need a super accurate return, go adjust the automation nodes later... BUT, for the sake of being quick & efficient, IF THERE IS A HOTKEY ALREADY THAT DOES THIS, then can someone tell me what it is? Because I think that feature would be pretty cool to have available.
Anybody have a use for this? I know it's not ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, but sometimes if I want to snap back immediately to -7.4 on a fader or something, thenit can be difficult to hit those targets in a half second live automation snap.
