[SOLVED] UA-1G will not go into ASIO mode any longer.

I've run with ASIO mode on my laptop since I got the UA-1G.

Over the weekend I was listening to a project that inexplicably closed on me and when I opened the project again the UA-1G was "gone". I reverted to WDM and the UA-1G appeared again (after was profiled).

So far so good. I can run the project in WDM mode, but I prefer ASIO.

I change SONAR (X1b build 255) to ASIO mode and the UA-1G is gone/unavailable again.

Anyone ever experience this?

I have had a couple of similar experiences. I think mine were caused by starting my computer with another USB audio device connected. I just rebooted after unplugging the other device (Digitech RP350) and that fixed the problem.

Things to check. Is your advanced driver switch on? Are other audio devices enabled in your audio options? If they are you may not be able to enable ASIO.

bapu , it's probably related to your post count.. there is stuff in the code that checks that ;-)

    (joking)

as you know if the ASIO instance of things crashes / fails , it might be still running in the background. So a reboot is the best solution in that aspect.

usual question, installed or updated anything recently , sometimes I do a clean install of interfaces (use ccleaner to remove trace of them) in the past.. and a clean re-install just fixes anything that might have gone funny, registry wise or other.

For some reason I missed these replies.

    Thanks to both of you.

I'll give these solutions a try.

FWIW Chappel; yes my advanced switch is on. And for quite some time I've had ASIO4ALL installed so that my cr@p internal soundcard will work when not using the UA-1G.

    Hah!

Problem solved: When my internal soundcard is selected (in ASIO mode) I cannot select/enable the UA-1G. Disable the internal and I can enable the UA-1G in ASIO mode.

Seems that Chappel's observation was the answer.

    Thanks guys.

well I assumed you knew that only one instance of asio can be used / selected ? (there are a few exceptions, but it's not the norm) when you say "disabled" you mean in device manager? there is no need IF you have. go into ya audio settings in sonar, just untick the onboard, and set that as the windows default.. bin asio4all, there is no need for it if your using the cakewalk thing all the time with that laptop.
