SOLVED: Z3TA 1.5.2 not showing up in list

....either as DXi or VSTi in either P5 or Sonar.

several times now I've reinstalled P5 (to reinstall the adapter), repatched the adapter, reinstalled Z3TA, updated Z3TA, checked in the Plugin Manager to see if it's excluded, all to no avail. I've reset all in the adapter. The dlls for Z3TA show up when it first goes through the list as it's scanning them, but does not appear in the list where you can click on the properties of each plug to change stuff before it finishes.

Ok, z3ta+.dll appears in the plugin manager in Sonar5x64, but under directx audio effects. nothing appears under VSTi or DX instruments. curious.

Z3TA works fine in the microhost. Only now I want to use it in P5 hehe. Heeeeeeeelp!

    Hey Dave,

I got hit bad with this earlier (with another product, but still same theory...)

What I did wrong was lost track of what was x86 and x64. So...your OS is XP64-Pro, but is Sonar5 installed x86 or x64?? Cause I ran into a problem trying to run x64 plugs on an x86 install (and vice versa, actually....I got ALL messed up...but that's another story! )

I'm sure you know P5 won't run an x64 plug, if you installed the 64-bit version of z3ta+...so you're screwed there. But if you're running x64 Sonar5 AND x64 install of z3ta+ then I have no idea why at least the DXI version won't show up.

I dunno...somebody smarter than me's gonna have to step in to fix it. Just telling you what happened to me....mixing and matching x86 and x64 got me into a lot of trouble.

    Will

Well, there's only one installer for Z3TA so I have to assume it's either both, or it's x32 only. Either way, it should show up in P5... At one point in the many installs, patches, and rescans, I had Sonar5P x64 seeing it in the VST list, but now it's gone again.

I also had Velocity and Npulse showing up in P5's DXi list for a while, wonder of wonders, but now they're gone again too.

I'm thinking I've screwed up my registry somehow...

    Hello Aggie,

z3ta+ installer includes both x86 and x64 versions. However, it will install the x86 version of z3ta+ in an x86 system, and the x64 version in an x64 system.

As of today, SONAR6 x64 is the only version capable of seeing x64 VST plug-ins AFAIK, so it's expected that S5 won't see the x64 VST. Project5 is an x86 app, so it won't see the x64 versions of z3ta+ DXi or VST. The thing that really puzzles me, is that you reported SONAR 5 x64 not seeing the DXi version. That should be there. Not in SONAR5 x86, but yes in SONAR5 x64.

In any case, please follow up about this with me privately (rceballos at cakewalk). I'll have to send you a few files.

Okay, after running the VST adapter from within Sonar x64, it is showing up there, although it's in the VST list and not in the list above, where Dimension Pro appears. Adding it to a project succeeds.

I seem to remember that this is how it was before... but then running the x32 VST adapter didn't make it appear in P5 or Sonar5P x32 (though that makes sense if the installer only installed the x64 version) but also made it cease appearing in Sonar5P x64 (edit: I've confirmed this behavior)

    I'll email you directly...

SOLVED: the installer was automatically installing the x64 version on my x64 OS, as Rene said above, so the 32 bit VST adapter (and therefore P5) couldn't see it. Anyone else having this problem should contact Rene directly.

hehe. Life is tough out here on the bleeding edge. Actually Vista would be the bleeding edge now, so I guess I'm not even that anymore. Oh well.

Same issue with Rapture in my 64bit Vista / 32bit Sonar.

64Bit sonar crackles and spikes me out.. so Im on 32bit.. Cant see Rapture after installation..

Is there any ways to make it install the 32bit DLL ?`

I find it rather annoying that Rapture (and Z3ta apparently) will be unusable in non 64bit applications - due to this installation "wizard".
Please make this a manual selection (just as the SONAR installation is).

(and René cant be PMmed ;) )

The problem here is with installing z3ta+ 1.5 on a 64-bit system.
By default, the installer will install the 64-bit version of z3ta+ and this version does not load in P5.
I am using Vista x64 and am unable to get z3ta+ working probably in P5.

email him again.... he's probably just missed it... you need an installer which allows you to choose which version.

first of all, this is a discussion forum, not a support forum. Second, several people have tried to help, including me. Have you bothered to ask for technical support? If Rene isn't answering, someone at tech support will, and they'll send you the file you need.
