(SOLVED-thanks everyone !) Apparently multiple scan paths and scanning VSTs multiple times
Hi all, I was hopeful in seeing this in Dorchester...."Fixed VST scan issues that could potentially report an incorrectly high plug-in count" but obviously I have multiple scan paths set. VST Scan reports 307 plugins, Browser shows Audio FX 54 Midi FX 7 Instruments 104 which simple math = 165 plugins. Something I thought about for awhile in that I suspect I may have duplicated things when moving plugins around to different drives. Is there a quick way, perhaps a search for *.dll to locate all plugins, make note of their locations, compare to where I am scanning in Plugin Manager and then begin to manually clean up ? Any suggestions ? While VST scan is quick and the reported 307 number is not bothersome, my nerdiness says I must fix this. Thanks for any comments offered. Best To All, Bill -

You might want to try a RESET first and then scan again.
Is there a quick way, perhaps a search for *.dll to locate all plugins Locate the VST paths in files in Sonar preferences and then check them in windows file explorer. Plugin manager will give more specific paths you can compare them alongside.

Bitflipper developed an Excel spreadsheet that details your plugins/type/version#'s/locations etc. Search the forum: plugin inventory. Look for "plugin inventory" thread by Southpaw3473 (Nov 29, 2014) Go to post #67 and there will be a dropbox link from Bitflipper. Just tested it again on SPlat-Cambridge and it works just fine!

Thanks Folks ! The reset didn't sort it out, but did uncover 2 issues readily corrected. I like the Excel Inventory Mr. Bitflipper mentions but the DB link is no longer valid. I hope he won;t mind, but I will ask if it is still available via a PM. Thanks Everyone Bill -

SONAR will suppress 32-bit plugins in the browser, if you have equivalent 64-bit versions, but it'll still report all the plug-ins that have been scanned. Are you sure this isn't what's happening in your case?

Post #88 has a working link. I just downloaded it to check it out since my PI count is rather ridiculous to begin with let alone with Automap wrapped versions.Went on a Bundle buying marathon for a couple of years.Time to clean house.Cheers!
