This month’s SONAR’s 2017.01 release for SONAR Platinum, Professional, and Artist brings fixes & enhancements to many key elements of SONAR as well as new Matrix View enhancements, multiple enhancements to Rapture Session and a new option in SONAR to Chase MIDI notes. I still have yellow lights in CCC. Have the bakers forgotten something? Has to do with plugins and synth's.

Which ACT mapping XML file gets corrupted when more than one control surface is connected?
I had 2 controllers working but then one of them (Nanokontrol 2) stopped working last week: the W checkbox cannot be ticked.
I was hoping this update would fix this.

Note Chaise is great (when I try it)- been suffering with long 8 measures notes needed for the drum loops to be triggered.
The Plug-in Manager is still acting out. Also it does not stop while scanning random plugins, it hangs for few seconds every few seconds and it stops entire graphic interface. The track continues to play. So if you adjusting a volume, for example, everything will stop for a second and then jumps right where you would be if it did not stop. The pronlem with it is that I have 800 plugins (According to the Plug-in Manager). It takes about 10-15 minutes to scan them all and it freezes the graphics every 2-3 seconds.

For what it's worth, I had the same problem with nanoKontrol2 a little while ago after a Windows 10 update. I had to uninstall and reinstall the KORG driver and it started working again. Don't know if the cause applies here, but the solution may be worth a try.

The Engineering FX Suite button was green and did not have an update to install. But everything else listed did.

Are screensets back in Artist? I cannot see a word about it in 2017.01 Knowledge Base.
I'm not aware that screensets were deleted. Look around for them as Lenses were added in the last version and some screen elements were rearranged. Select Views/Screensets from the top menu bar. OR Right click the Control bar and you should be able to reinstate the screen set box. Check the manual by searching for Screensets. The m is a great reference. You'll find it in Sonars root directory. C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar\Sonar Reference guide.pdf

Wasn't there supposed to be an update to the CA-2A T-Type Levelling Amplifier included in this update? My CA-2A blob was green.

[SOLVED] I was able to trace all the behavior below to a bad USB drive I had been using as a backup drive. Once I unplugged it, all the behavior described below stopped. Not a complaint but just an observation. The list of enhancements states that "multisample loading process is now multithreaded, which gives much faster loading of programs with samples that take up lots of memory". I'm actually seeing the opposite. My projects now take longer to load. I use a lot of Kontakt instruments with many samples being loaded from an SSD drive. This version takes about twice as long to load projects from the previous version. Anyone else seeing this? Also, when a project loads, the spinning donut disappears for a while leading me to believe that it failed to load, but if I wait, it reappears and finally loads the project. No big deal but I just wanted to share in case it could be useful feedback for the bakers. I'm still lovin' Sonar Platinum!

Thanks for that feedback! I wonder why my project is loading slower now? I may revert back to the December release to confirm..

It's a bug that was supposed to be fixed "soon".
Sorry I wasn't aware of the bug. If you knew why did you ask? If there had been a change and Screensets were back there would have been a mention. Obviously yours and Cakewalk s definition of soon aren't the same. have to be ppaient

But I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I just want to avoid the whole updating/rolling back procedure. I want to make sure that the bug is fixed before I update to 2017.01. I've had to roll back all the way to 2016.09 because of this. This is not what I'm paying for...

See my earlier post. I think there might have been a slip up. The CA-2A update (relevant CW post now deleted) was supposed to be included in the Jan overall update.

I updated, then when it finished I had Rapture Session and Sonar Platinum yellow, so I updated again. Now all is green, but I checked the rollbacks. Rollbacks can also be early access releases - higher in build number, but included in the rollback section so users don't inadvertently install them.
