SONAR 2017.02 update 2- Track templates - MIDI ports re-assigning upon load

Hi guys

I just installed ER SONAR 2017.02 update 2

I loaded some self created track templates of a single track simple instrument made with an earlier release and the MIDI port for the MIDI component still gets re-assigned to the first available hardware MIDI port.  This results in a silent track.

As with update 1, I can re-assign the MIDI out to the VST synth and the track behaves as it should.  I can save the track template in this state and it loads correctly.

Note: As a test, I did load a Sonar stock track template simple instrument, and these all loaded with the correct port assignments.

To install 2017.2 updates 2, I rolled back to 2017.1 and then installed 2017.2 update 2 from there.

Still not a showstopper though as I have a work-a-round

Windows 10 64bit fully patched, 16 gig ram .  PCR-800 Controller.  External PC with SW1000XG driven via USB MIDI adapter.
CPU: i5 4670.
Video: Nvidia GTX560ti.
Sound card: Asus Zonar PCI card
Internet always connected.
Software
: Sonar Platinum (Lifetime with latest update installed) 64bit set to 24bit 48khz, ASIO mode. 6ms total round trip latency.

Rapture Pro, Strum GS2, String Studio VS-2, Lounge Lizard EP-4, Ultra Analog VA-2, Z3TA+ 2, Addictive Drums 2, Meldaproduction Mpowersynth (latest)

Hi dude,

Sorry you're going through all this. It was my fault - we're trying to do persistence such that it can work for MIDI ports across machines with compatible devices, but I think I underestimated how complex Sonar's MIDI routing logic is.

I appreciate you letting us know about it and being patient. I *think* I've got it it fixed now, so hopefully we can get this update up and out the door soon!

I just installed 17.02 build 39. I still have a problem with midi input ports. When I load SONAR the input ports do not work at all although the tray icon shows activity. I have to uncheck the input ports in Preferences then close SONAR. Then after reopening SONAR I can re-check the Inputs and they will work again until SONAR is closed. Then I have to do the above dance again. For now I guess I will have to remember to uncheck the inputs before closing.
