After I purchased an update from sonar 6 PE to 7 PE last night. On the same mail it said:

If your product requires a serial number and/or registration code those codes are now visible in your estore account. Log in to your account at http://store.cakewalk.com/ and click the 'My Registrations' link in the 'My Account' area.

Being a good boy and doing as I am asked I go to the Estore again log into my account and there is no record of me having purchased Sonar 7 and of course no registration numbers.

Not sure its because I live in Europe but not one single purchase from Cake has ever gone as it should have done. This one looks like no exception, mail sent to Cake support last night with a sigh of here we go again


Oh and the big RIP OFF Upgrade price in Euros 170 bearing in mind its $179 in the States.

OK I get hit for transport costs at $21 which takes my invoice price to €191 but can someone explain to me at CAKE how you can justify a taking $50 dollars over the exchange rate? Fluctuation in the rates OK allow a 10% hike anything else my friends is as close to a rip off as you can get.

Do you have something against foreign users as it certainly can't be translation costs as I ordered the English version?

I tried to PM you but your mailbox was full. Can you remind me what the track template issue was? There are definitely improvements with MIDI out VST's but Im not sure what you are referring to here.

Thanks for trying to PM me. It was the issue with DFHS when trying to save the mono synth output tracks in a track template, it reverts them back to stereo. Here are a few threads explaining it better.

I really wish this would have been fixed in sonar6.

Looks like a nice solid upgrade - I was hoping for a fix for this too so that I could use BFD properly with Jamstix2 as a VST - I use it as a DXI right now and it is fine but a VST implementation would be more versatile.

I am also hoping that ACT templates have been expanded for more hardware then I see listed but on the face of it looks like a solid workman like upgrade and that's great! - Good Job Cake!!

Just a couple of questions (pardon my newbie-ness): The "Roland V-Vocal VariPhrase technology" that is missing from the Studio Edition - is that something like "autotune" and is the entire tool omitted or just the "VariPhrase technology," whatever that is?

Also, could you please post the system requirements? Or at least how they compare to the already posted requirements for Sonar 6?

Once again, sorry for the stupid questions - I haven't used a full version of SONAR longer than a few hours, but judging from the excitement around here - this may be a time to start.

One other question: will there be a crossgrade option for S7? And if so, what competitors' application will be covered?

For the first time in five years I am not going to upgrade.

I have better plugins than those included (Sonnox, UAD, Melodyne, Kontakt ....). So there is very little new and useful here. Anyway, I have mainly used another DAW program for the last two years.

Yeah and Propeller Heads gave everyone a heads up a new version would be out. Back in August if you bought Reason 3 they would give you Reason 4 when it's released.

Does that use stereo rewire channels?

Expensive month this - and my motorcycle needs new tyres too - and the wife crashed her car into our house

And probably some of the other software you have is announcing upgrades. Kind of makes it difficult where to put your $$

Nice release. I too would like to see some enhancements to Notation.
I purchased Sonar 6 in August and have not yet seen an e-mail for the special upgrade price.
I plan on upgrading to Sonar 7.

Bought it in August. No email yet.

Edit: I think they haven't decided yet how much to charge us. Expect your email on Thursday or "at the latest on Friday".
