SONAR 8.3.1 NO SOUND on UCA222 interface

Hi people!

first of all, im a newb and i know it. but we all start somewhere so i'd appreciate any piece of advise!

I bought cakewalk sonar and a UCA222 interface and im having a TON of trouble trying to get the two working! I got the UCA222 first and got it all set up. drivers up and running and i can do anythign else on my PC and it uses the UCA as my audio output.

I installed sonar and it doesn't seem to want to communicate with my UCA unit! here are some screenshots from the (OPTIONS-> AUDIO->) window. i tried downloading the ASIOALL driver from the begringer website, nothing.
whats wrong with my settings?! please help!!

Uninstall ASIO4all and use the native behringer driver for that device.
After you install the UCA222 driver,  tuen your interface on and wait 10 seconds and then start sonar up.

If sonar doesnt performa a wave profile, go into options > audio and switch the driver mode to WDM and then click the wave profiler.
After it runs the profiler, go into the driver box and check all the ins and outs and then go into the advanced box and make sure the recording and playback masters are set to your UCA222

    Thanks for the advise.

I deleted all other drivers and used only the native driver.
i opened sonar and went to options-audio, and selected WDM and went to wave profiler and it ran the profiler. it said audio hardware has been successfully profiled so i hit close. then i got this msg

"The following tracks and buses are currently assigned to a silent hardware output. The items listed below will be silent in your project until their outputs are reassigned to an appropriate hardware output:

    Master
    Metronome"

im so lost! thanks in advance!

Just go to your master bus and asign the output to main outs 1/2 and then make sure your main outs 1/2 go to your sound cards outputs.
go back into th eoptions/audio/driver tab and check all ins and outs like i said above adn then go into the advanced tab and do that also. You need to check the settings after the profile

sorry to sound so useless but where/what is a master bus?

for my drivers tab input i only have two options:\

    USB audio CODEC

    and a blank option.

the driver tab output only has:

    USB audio CODEC

    and two blank options

is somethign wrong with my drivers?

CJ - sorry but you're wrong.  the UCA devices from behringer don't have native ASIO drivers, nor do they have WDM drivers.  behringer's website recommends and links to ASIO4ALL for their drivers.  it's either ASIO4ALL or windows' USB Audio Codec.

lexx - USB Audio Codec is what you're using in this mode.  behringer has no specific drivers for this device, so if you don't use ASIO4ALL then you will be using the windows USB Audio Codec.

at this point, if you chose USB Audio Codec in the OUTPUT of your MASTER and METRONOME buses then you probably will work fine except you'll have higher latency than you would if you went back to ASIO4ALL.

and to locate the master and metronome buses, they should be at the bottom of your screen in the track view, or on the far right if you're in console view.  they could be hidden, and if so, click on the bar at the bottom of the window and drag up and it should show the bus pane.  if you can't find it that way, click on VIEWS.  I'm not in front of sonar right now so I don't remember exactly where to go from there, but you can find a VIEW in there which will show the buses.

    Hi audio friends,

    @ Beagle,

I was looking into the Behringer site and found that they do have UCA 222 drivers for both 32 and 64 bits Win 7. are those Asio4all drivers?

    Please look in here:
    http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UCA222.aspx

    Best regards
