SONAR Artist Automation: Not writing automation settings from Amplitube 4

Hi. Here's my problem:

  1. I am trying to record automation for the Wharmonator pedal from Amplitube 4.
  2. I have assigned automation for the pedal to Parameter 1.
  3. I have set Write Enable Parameters on in Sonar Artist.
  4. When I hit play and press the pedal (using a mouse), the effect can be heard, but nothing is recorded.
  5. On the Sonar FX panel dropdown for Amplitube 4, all the Write Enable Parameters are unchecked - checking Parameter 1 is not saved when I press OK.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I believe you can click the "R" to record automation right in the VST GUI.
Make sure the R is red (means recording).

    Hi Chuck

Thanks for the click reply. That doesn't actually work - the R on the effect VST only turns blue, and doesn't record any automation from the effect.

Am I getting confused between W and R? Either way, neither works!

Is there anything else it could be?

    Thanks again

Hit the "W" to Write the automation, R is "Read"

Brando is correct. W is for Write and R is for Read. Sorry for any confusion.
Click the W and move the pedal to create the automation. If you leave the R button on it only means it will be reading while writing. This way you can make minor changes while write is enabled so when you let go of the pedal it will snap back to previous automation you have done previous.
You can also leave Read off until you are finished with automation. I use this feature all the time and im not sure why I left bogus info in my first comment. there are also 3 different automation modes (Overwrite, Touch, and Latch.)
Read here to see what each one does (but for all intent, overwrite is the way to go),

After Automation is complete you can go back in to a lane and fine tune it.

Thanks. I should have stated in my original post that this was obviously the first thing I tried, as that works with all the other effects. It's just not working with Amplitube 4. Is there perhaps a setting I may have missed?
