Just an update to this for everyone. The new files work perfectly in S7 but will not work in S6 or S8 unless you rename the version of the .dll to that version. For example, S6 would be Res15.dll, S7 Res16.dll, S8 Res17.dll. If you put the S7 .dll in S6 or S8 the programs will not open at all unless you rename to that version. Once you do that, the programs WILL open and function properly but some of the buttons and draws will be distorted. Other than that, this works like a charm in S7. However you figured this out alree, thanks....it's awesome as I really needed that Cyan color for the meters in console view. :)

My latest colour scheme. I've also made changes to the Track Fader Knobs - changed them to smooth type and colour coded them for Tracks, Bus's and Mains. I've changed the Segmented Level Meters to green (changing to yellow at -6db) and I've changed the Now Time widget on the Large Transport to make it stand out a bit more. Hope you like.

nice job alree! i prefer your faders...less busy than the originals. i made a few tweaks like this myself using a resource editor (especially the main buttons at the top), which resource editor do you use?

You can download the above colour scheme and TTSRes16.dll file here, just swap the TTSRes16.dll with the one in your Cakewalk/SONAR 7 root folder (eg: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR 7 Producer Edition\). Make sure you keep a copy of the original TTSRes16.dll file safe somewhere, just to be on the safe side. http://www.bare-foot.org/diamond/green_scheme.zip

ORIGINAL: alree I use Resource Hacker ( http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/File-Editors/Resource-Hacker.shtml ). The only problem is that Cakewalk have got bitmaps in there for all sorts of versions (and other things by the look of it), trying to figure out which ones belong to your version is a nightmare. Good luck and may the force be with you. LOL@ "the force"...yep needed for somethings hahaha. thanks for the info. thats one of the oldest and still one of the best resource editors out there! EDIT: when i put this in the sonar directory (renaming the original to "TTSRes16_ORG.dll" beforehand)...sonar just flashes the splashscreen for 3 seconds and doesn't do anything....anyone else get this?)...replacing my original back and works again. damn it. thanks anyway alree (version is the same: 7.0.2 (file version 16.0.2.243)...so i don't know what gives....probably stupid vista!)

Hi Brandon, Would you make the color template used for the SONAR 8 demos (at ASE) available? I really like the clean look of that color scheme. I noticed that Seth also used the same scheme on the Production Tour. Really appreciate it. Take care, tecknot

Ok heres my small contribution! First of all Id like to note that some features of my colour scheme are based on what other members have already contributed: 1.The splash screen (and the background image of the colour scheme) is made from a wallpaper already contributed in this forum but unfortunately I cant find the relative post!If the creator of that wallpaper reads this please PM me and ill acknowledge him at one 2.The faders and segmented meters colours are based on the valuable contribution of member "alree" So here goes....first of all,for all those of you that are tired to be reminded that you dont run the latest version of Sonar, the splash screen: the colour scheme - which is not very different from the default but a lot darker and with a lot more contrast In the piano roll view I ve tried my best to keep the bars visible The fader knobs and segmented meters have been customised by editing the TTSRes16.dll as per "alree'' example! In the following download link the zip file contains the clr file ,the splash bitmap, and the TTSRes16.dll version 16.0.2.243 as found in Sonar 7! Please back up your original splash bitmap file and TTSRes16.dll before replacing them with those provided in my zip file Also in the same zip file there is a background image you can set as a background for Sonar to fit with the splash screen.Enjoy! Click the link below to get the zip file: http://boxstr.com/files/4030052_jfrrv/darknintence.zip EDIT: forgot to mention...I ve named it "dark and intence"

Take care, tecknot I asked about this already, and I was told they used the "Dark 2" color scheme that is included with Sonar. I checked it and it seems that really is what they used. I don't remember if it was one of the other "Darks" but the difference is really only the clip colors. Brent

The color of the meters was modified to match "Dark - Bright Clips". So I guess it's a bit of a hybrid.

Ah, thank you both, Brent and Brandon. I'll check that out. I'm a little confused by the name of the color scheme. The one I was refering to is a majority of a soft grey color, so maybe the name is just a misnomer. Nonetheless, I appreciate it. Take care, tecknot

Have Cakewalk made any changes to Sonar 8's GUI? If not, then changing the name of the altered TTSRes16.dll to TTSRes17.dll will probably work.

They might well have done a bit of house keeping and got rid of all the bitmaps from older versions of Sonar etc. that were lurking in there. (several hundred in fact)
