SONAR LE 8.5 VST plugin problem (EZDrummer 2)
Okay so I've gotten EZDrummer 2 and when I tried to like make it work as the VST plugin it is into SONAR LE 8.5 it doesn't recognises it or something like that. I try to scan and nothing happens. I really need help with this. If you need more details please tell me and I will answer with screenshots or anything as soon as possible. Thanks.

We need a little more to go on. Is it listed in your synths? If so, when you try to "Insert Synth" what happens? We are here to help.

Thanks a lot! When I go to Insert > Soft Synths there appears only PSYN II and DropZone which I have no idea what is that for. Then I go to Tools > Cakewalk plug in manager > VST Instruments only DropZone appears. I try and click scan and still only DropZone appears. I also tried to import it and when I go to the folder which EZDrummer 2 is installed nothing appears. Am I doing something wrong? How to install it correctly? I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I will put some pictures too.

It only appears DropZone. Here I try to add it and it says it is there but when I click OK it is the same as the first picture. What should I do?

Are you using the 64-bit EZD2? Are you sure that the DLL for that synth is in that directory you are pointing to? Try uninstallg EZD2 and using the cakewak folder as the VST DLL library on the install. Make sure that there is no 64-bit installed somewhere else on the computer like the 'Program Files' 64-bit program directory. Some reason, the EZD2 DLL can't be found. Do a search for it on the compoluter and add that folder to the plugin manager. see if that help. That is about all I can think of.

Don't give up, we can help you. First some information for you about posting pictures. To stop spam the forum software won't allow you to post pictures until you have made 25 posts so we can't see any pictures. You can't paste a picture only the link to a picture so it must be hosted somewhere else, for example Photobucket or some such picture hosting service. Create a link and then paste the link into your post.
In the meantime I just want to check that you have Sonar's VST scanner looking at the folder where the EzDrummer.dll is located. The scanning paths can be set in 2 locations. Preferences>VST settings or in the Plugin Manager under Options. Are you a novice user unfamiliar with Sonar or is the whole audio recording process foreign to you. Just so we know how to approach helping you.
What audio interface do you have? What is your operating system etc. if you have a look you'll notice that many users have a brief list of their computer and audio specifications in their signature. See my signature.

Does your guitar pedal connect to your computer via USB? If it doesn't it's not a sound card and you will be using your computer's onboard Audio device. How do you get sound from your guitar into you computer? To insert a softsynth, there are a few ways. Go to the main menus at the top of the screen and look for Insert>SoftSynth> EZDrummer2. A box will appear, make sure that at least of MIDI and First two Tracks are selected From your screen grabs it appears that it's installed properly so I f EzDrummer is really available it should open.

I noticed in your earlier screen grabs that the EzDrummer dll was in the drop zone folder. Close Sonar. Go to Windows explorer and just cut and paste that file into the Cakewalk/VSTPlugins folder. It's currently in Cakewalk/VSTPlugins/Dropzone/ezdrummer2.dll Then when Sonar reopens it will scan the plugins and hopefully when you follow my earlier procedure it will work

Actually, it is in the vstplugins folder. Here's the screenshot I took earlier: http://s1289.photobucket.com/user/eduardo0796/media/location3_zps3ew3ft5z.jpg.html Or is there another thing you mean? I also have one question. I am really new here so I am sorry if this is wrong, but is there a way I can contact you or another member to help me in real time? (For example, skype and such...) I am kind of desperate to record my songs and all with drums on it but I can't! If you can, my Skype is: eduardo0796. If the problem is solved, I will post the solution here to any other who is having the same problem as myself. Thanks.

That's what I mean. In the plugin manager you have the Cakewalk/VSTPlugins Cakewalk/Vstplugins/Dropzone you can remove the second scan path in the plugin manager as the VST Scanner will go down through any folder in VSTPlugins looking for *.dll files
When you open Plugin Manager I only see Dropzone in the centre window In the left column select DXi and see what is in the centre console In the left column select VSTi and see what is in the centre column
Now very important. I notice you are on Windows x64 1. Are you using Sonar x64 or x86 (32bit) 2. have you installed the 32 bit version of EzDrummer or the 64 bit If it's the 64 bit version you need to scan Program Files/Cakewalk/VSTPlugins You select that in PluginManager>Options and use Add to create a new path for sonar to scan.
I am not able to contact you via Skype.

I've reexamine do your pictures and it seems they answer my questions anyway.
PSYNII and Dropzone are both synths that come with Sonar LE. I'm going to try and make some more enquires with Cakewalk but I suspect that you can't add synths to Sonar LE because it is a lite edition program.
