Just installed Sonar Platinum (Hopkinton update) two weeks ago. Works very good for the most part, but whenever I'm editing in the Piano Roll view, it randomly freezes and stops responding (the usual faded gray screen). If I wait for Sonar to respond, the display eventually comes back ok but one click and it freezes again. No choice but to close the program. This started happening on the very first project in which I'm using midi, and I only have AD2 open, no other VST plugins or effects. This happens only when editing in the Piano Roll and only glitch I have with Sonar.
Anyone else having these issues?
Sonar Platinum /Windows 10 Pro (x64) /Gigabyte H97-D3H-CF /Intel Core i7-4770 3.40GHz /16 Gb RAM /Scarlett 2i4 2.5.1 Drivers
FYI this is a clearly a specific issue and nothing to do with a general discussion about instability. You appear to be asking for help. You are starting a thread within a thread and you are not partaking in a general discussion about stability (good or bad, if you read from the beginning it wasn't all roses) however much you try to bend it here, this is a general discussion about stability not your specific issue. We have said that we would like you to move it to another thread and you have refused. Quite frankly you've been treated pretty well with good humour given the situation, and rather than be light hearted you have decided to complain. Many forums mods would have deleted your posts and granted you a temporary ban by now. You've entirely hijacked and killed this thread after several polite requests not to do so. If you decide to copy and paste the above into a new thread we shall start again and all try to help no doubt, we could all be happy bunnys again. I again urge you to this. On the other hand if you won't listen no doubt a host will come along and lock this, and hopefully you will learn from this. Way to go if so, thanks for killing the conversation. You are an entirety different person who just got in the way because you just didnt like somebody being told to start a seperate thread.. Then you decided to post your own particular issue. Oh dear oh dear. So huge apologies to slarocque. @lingyai - I suggest you bog off and annoy somebody else. I thought you might need help but you are just here to stir trouble and hijack. You were right you should have started an instability thread.

Please don't make this anything more then it is. You can say my system is not stable all you want in your own thread but that is not what this thread is about. If you do have a problem and you want it fixed start a new thread about it. The OP was not asking for a debate.
I am not debating anyone, I do not dispute that the OP finds Hopkinton to be stable. I and others are sharing our own take on the same subject, it's what forums are for. I think you are being a bit heavy handed John. Yes you have Moderator Power but remember that just because one has a hammer doesn't mean everything should start to look like a nail.
I guess the thing is that if you do have concerns then maybe starting a thread may get you some help to sort out the problem. This being a forum there's always plenty of negative opinions being offered so it's nice to follow a thread where we can share our positive experience. I wouldn't take it too serious though. I guess what happens over time a group of us become familiar with one another so the occasional off topic comment is tolerated because it's relevant to the people (in a personal way) in the discussion not necessarily to the topic. You'll find lots of help and while some rules are hard to interpret and are a bit bendy don't sweat it. (Just ignore John, most of us do). Just make music and enjoy your time here too. It is possible. I notice you've been around the forum for years just not a frequent poster. All the best.

As this thread has wandered well away from its original topic and drop into discussion on the merits of starting an original thread, washing machines and golf. I think it is time to leave it at that.

Mike it is really bad advice to tell someone to ignore a host when they are asked to stop doing something.
